Usually the club season has finished and there's no other football on. I'm not sure i'll have the time or focus to watch england, australia and ipswich. Maybe fans of prem clubs who are having a break. |  |

Well said! All these people letting others know they aren't going to watch are just trying to make a statement. I will watch as many matches as possible- its football! This is often a really depressing time of year and to have England involved in Live Sport is great......im not ignoring the really bad points about this WC but its happening and I'm just going to enjoy the ride. |

That's immensely shallow and completely unfair and misses the fact the OP asked. It's a contentious matter with good reason. And if some people want to make a statement then power to them for standing up to be counted.
To suggest people who are uneasy about it are somehow virtue-signalling is not much short of ignorant tbh.
There will be a lot who want to watch England but can't help but wish the situation was altogether different. The shine has been removed for many fans and that doesn't change just because you don't want to acknowledge it.
As for others suggesting it's "like this every time" are also missing the point. This isn't like other times for all the reasons that have been well-documented.
Speaking for myself I always look forward to the international tournaments with interest but am unhappy about this one.
Like most I will also want England to do well. As always. It's possible to feel two things at the same time you know. |  |

I'll watch all the England games, plus whatever I can get away with from kids and wife in group stages then majority of knockout ones that don't clash with other plans |

However, some people like me don't actually really care. I want them to do well, but i'm more upset at ipswich drawing 4-4 with CHarlton the other week compared to England losing the Euro final.
Sorry if thats "edgy" or "cool", but its genuinely how I felt.
Ipswich lost in trhe FA cup final, i'd probably feel crap for days after. England losing that final I was fine 2 mins afterwards. [Post edited 11 Nov 2022 13:12]
