We only have one (injured) loan player TJJ. Do you think KMc will use his network to bing one or two loans in? It would be very costly to buy in a top player, especially a goal scorer, during the window

I sincerely hope we don’t rely on loans. Significant investment needed. We’ve been great in the transfer market. But one failure is the striker situation. Need better.
It is about getting the right deal for the club. If the best value in January is via a loan, we might well do that. Something like a contract for Wickham might even be enough.
We are not far short at the moment. It was clear in the summer we were after a striker, and I would say it was also clear we were not willing to pay over the odds or panic into getting the wrong one in.

Rhodes was mentioned only last week, the sort of player he is would put him in the right place to score some of those many crosses we whip across but fail to anticipate or finish.
He’s not a link up or high energy closer down though .
Agree on what others have said on midfield we seem a bit light but at the mo , we haven’t seen what Camara is capable of , and he will likely get chances to play before we get to the Jan window by which time Aluko and Evans will have returned or be near to doing so.

Do we know exactly how far off Ahadme is from full recovery? Info seems a bit ambiguous . Assuming he's fit by January, that gives us 3 from 4 forwards, in Ladapo, Jackson, and Gas., with JJ sidelined.. By the time the window opens. Who is actually out there, that would fit the mould, of what we need? Marcus Stewart was a miracle signing. Haven't seen a January signing , with such impact, since. We don't know what kind of spend our investors were prepared to lump into this season. How much of that have we swallowed up in fees and wages already? Burns, Chaplin, Harness and Camara are all goal threats, albeit misfiring goal threats atm. Camara aside, who's just come into the side I think there is a bit of panic setting in from the fan base, based on a few recent games. I think , it might be easier to get our current players firing, than look for that needle in a haystack, goal scorer. That could end up a very expensive gamble. What bothers me more, is our central midfield situation. We have literally no cover for Morsey and Humphrey's in DM positions.? Another worry for me, is the spirit in the camp. After some disappointing results, and news of some serious injuries to key players. KM looked visibly down, imo, after Saturday's game. This will be the first real test for him, in terms of adversity, when expectations are high. I hope the fans can try to stay upbeat and give the squad a much needed lift. Lot's of questions to be answered.. Could perhaps see us with a slight change in formation, 4-1-4-1. or 4-1-3-2 ? Being as we currently have more options in forward thinking midfielders, than defensive midfielders. I'm not holding my breath, on some star signing in January..(Although that would be nice). Most likely a couple of loans, imo.. Coaching staff have got some work to do, to lift the lads and get them firing again. Despite the injuries, we've still got a lot of quality available on matchdays. More than most , in this division. If we can get the best from 3 or 4 of them, we'll be alright. You can't just bin players off, through lack of form. Especially when we've seen what they can do. Time for some in the squad to take a look in the mirror, and stop hiding behind team mates.. There's half a dozen match winners out there , every match. When they're on it.
Stewart was an exciting signing really, we poached one of our rival's best players
The only strikers I can think of in the recent past who have come in in January and made an impact were Sears and I think we got McGoldrick in January also or did I imagine that?
Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

There will only be about half the season left, so to make a significant impact, whoever we bring in must be fit and ready to play - not someone getting over an injury, or who has just been sitting on the bench somewhere and not been playing regularly .
Should we move for a striker in January it's worth considering that Posh nearly always drive a hard bargain (so I expect Clarke-Harris would be very expensive), therefore, maybe the better value would be Collins, see here:
Although Portsmouth had been linked strongly for Collins but apparently he turned them down saying he was happy and settled at Bristol Rovers.
Anybody else think he'd be worth getting if a fair deal could be done (and provided he showed enough willing to want to come here)? And do you think he looks a definite upgrade on what we already have?
I've got no idea if he's even on the club's radar but if they wanted to get a striker that looks strong at this level, then he might be on a potential shortlist.
January isn’t a good time to find players. Firstly the decent ones are already tied up. Secondly why would a good striker come here, we’re not guaranteed to go up and thirdly it’s not been easy to attract players to the wilds of Suffolk. Playing to KM style needs strikers that can anticipate defence splitting passes or over the top to run on. JJ is perhaps the right sort but now injured but Freddie most certainly isn’t. Jacko could be but he can’t cope with big defenders. Norwood would’ve been perfect so we now have a cf that is too slow and two no 10s that just shoot anywhere, looks good but not enough goals. Harness seems to think that goals are ten feet high ( well that’s where most of his go) and Chaplin is always in a rush and perhaps should watch a few of Stewart’s goals! With cup games coming up I’d try one of our youngsters, (can’t be any worse!) until January.
But to lose 9m in TV revenue ? Seems a small price to pay in the context of things...
