F**k the tories!! 13:09 - Dec 6 with 9541 views | noggin | My old mum is in a bad way, in pain and unable to even sit up. She's probably suffering from sepsis, so my sister, who is a nurse, just called 999. Up to 22 hour wait for an ambulance!!! You b*st*rds!!

The post just shows the ignorance around, anyone can easily Google to see just the opposite has happened since 2010, and sadly people like that mat actually vote…

I was hoping that was going to be an update, as it’s a useful source of info. 7 years old now though (but yes, certainly shows the damage done post-2010.

Tories aren’t exactly renowned for their empathy are they? The current lot even less so. More’s the pity for the rest of us when the sociopaths get into power. It follows that their supporters won’t give a monkeys about anyone else.

It is difficult to track down more up-to-date figures in a similar format. There was due to be a much bigger real term increase from 2018-19 onwards, which experts thought was not enough. And Covid itself led to increased spending, a lot of which has been withdrawn. But I think the real damage which is coming home to roost now was done from 2010-2018. Indeed, in that period I believe there was even a reduction in nurse training.
F**k the tories!! on 21:19 - Dec 8 with 770 views | DJR | Given that the lowest real terms increase in NHS spending took place under the coalition, it seems to me that the Lib Dems also have blood on their hands.

Someone has down-voted my comment, but my view is that a key reason public services these days are on the brink of collapse is the austerity of the coalition government, and the Lib Dems were as committed to austerity as the Tories. [Post edited 9 Dec 2022 9:51]

But I am being constantly told that PR and coalitions would stop all this Tory frightfulness. Whereas a better informed voting populace would/might. Meanwhile, in light of the Mone PPE scam, it is about time the UK ended the Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey from being unaccountable tax havens. Also remove MPs from having second jobs. Clear out the House of Lords. And end the pantomime of PMQs. Have the PM face questions once a week from a select committee of opposition MPs.
