Must win tonight..... 08:14 - Feb 14 with 5212 viewsitfcjoe

....Bristol Rovers in terrible form - just got to turn up and do a professional job and roll back to Suffolk with 3 points and hope some results go our way.

It's not yet must win, but every point dropped is huge now. Use this run of 5 'easier' games to set us up for the 5 really tough games that follow.

I'm using 92 points as the target (might still be short though). We currently need 2.25 points a game over the last 16 games which is an extremely high bar. However, it's a bar we met in our first 16. In fact it's exactly what we got in our first 16 games.

In that spell we lost 2, drew 3 and won 11. If we need to replicate that, then the next 5 games are the easiest ones to stack up nearly half of our required wins.

If we pick up from 13 points from next 5 we'll be at 69 from 35 and effectively need 2 ppg for the run in - it all feels very achievable but don't think anyone hand on heart expects it to happen

That's just not going to happen, unfortunately.

The attritional style is clearly not suited to keeping the same XI. It's likely put paid to Broadhead playing 2 games in a week too.

As much as I'd like a settled side playing with rhythm, we are where we are unfortunately.

Come end of season, the n form side tends to go up via the play-offs. At present, that’s not us so something needs to change. If KM doesn’t realise we need more continuity to start putting some form together then he’s making a rod for his own back.

I think saying form side goes up isn't correct, the biggest guide to who goes up in recent years has been that those who come 3rd or 4th (or 4th and 5th in League Two) are most likely to.

Those sides are not always in form at the time, but if we finish in 3rd or 4th we will likely have to be 'in form' to see off Derby and Bolton - but if we do finish there we'll be more likely to go up
