Why the worry about Barnsley's win? 06:25 - Mar 22 with 4156 viewsSomethingBlue

I'm happy to reel Wednesday in a little — let's make this four into two rather than three into one. And let's see how Sheff Wed cope with a little wobble. They are vulnerable.

Also — let's just back ourselves. The team is very, very good. If we sustain the kind of form we'll need in order to go up, Barnsley aren't going to be especially relevant.

I agree

I would rather Barnsley had lost so we waved them goodbye and concentrate on Plymouth.

Barnsley losing would not have been waving bye, they'd be the same distance as we are to Plymouth with the opportunity they could take 3 points off us.

We now have more of a fight for first place.

First place?

Forget that - running out of games.

If only our form hadn’t collapsed, we wouldn’t be worried about anything.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Not at all, Plymouth occupy that spot which is the team we all want to catch. Wednesday now only have a single game in hand, and after not winning in two could feel the pressure, hopefully.

Exeter and Rovers are local derbies and not easy places to go to. I'd be very surprised to see Plymouth win those two. Accrington are probably the worst side in the league currently and it didn't look like it was exactly comfortable for them last night, albeit they got the job done. Morecambe aren't great but they have more about them than Accrington I'd say. I think Plymouth will drop points, I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to have a slip up at home as well. For me they're the weakest of the top 4 despite sitting top currently.

I saw a bit of the Accrington|Plymouth game, and I was surprised at Plymouth's lack of cohesion. They looked dangerous in Accrington's half, but that was mostly due to how poor Accrington's defence were. In terms of control and creativity, Plymouth looked mid-table level to me. One game sample, not very meaningful, but I do suspect that the wheels might come off for them again.

Barnsley, on the other hand, looked tasty, aggressive and full of confidence. But they are not as good as us at playing through spaces, and I doubt they'll be quite as aggressive as they were against a relatively poor looking Wednesday.

Interesting cuppla months ahead, but I'm more excited about the opportunity we have to do something special, than worried about other teams.

Well there's no point in worrying about something that happened in the past.

I don't think anyone is/was blubbing, I just don't think it was that bad a result considering a) Argyle predictably (Stanley are awful) won and b) we need to maintain an extraordinary winning form to have a chance, which will mean staying ahead of Barnsley anyway.

So two teams to put the pressure on, innit ba.

I'm definitely coming around to the idea that 2 teams nipping at the heels in blistering form is better than 1 when it comes to inciting a wobble at the top.
