Do you know much about the background of this chap Callum Tongue we have recruited as U18s coach from Man City? The initial thought is obviously that it is a coup when you read 'Man City'. You wouldn't think he'd want to leave the set up there but I presume this is effectively a promotion for him?

The talk I was hearing 18 months or so ago was that we wanted to raid top academies for players that were going to fall below the mark of getting close to first teams - ironically Ben Knight types. But that hasn't happened so far.

I think he was their lead foundation coach - so was with their U12s. Am not sure if he is coming in above Darlow or below as on last teamsheet it still had Darlow at top and him on there

Above Darlow. Was City's 'academy lead age group coach', which I assume he was running the U15s or similar.

Once had a trial for Town as a player in a pre-season U18s game at Kirkley and Pakefield so one or two Lowestoftians on here may well have seen him play!

No, Carr's the one we brought in from Carlisle in January. Further to that post, I think Ward's actually here for another year.

It sounds like we are being more ruthless with the academy under Gamechanger than under Evans. I can’t help thinking players were pushed through under the previous regime that weren’t really good enough.
