I have to say the Owls and Argyle forums make interesting reading this morning. Never known such a pessimistic self resigning bunch.
They seem to forget the fact they still occupy the top two slots yet are talking like their seasons are over!!

It might be too early for one or two to go up... but looking back on this season they'll no doubt see a net gain to build on next season.

And for the rest it's curtains.

Nope. The point is like I've always said. It's part of football yet you act shocked about it and can't seem to understand that some people will be critical of players during periods of poor performances and results.

You made the forum completely unbearable for a large number of people, me included. 60 people still currently have you on ignore and others say that the ignore feature doesn't work on someone that posts so often. We've never had anyone that had that number of ignores before.

I don't mind people that have a differing opinion but you were incessant and to give our own players a disparaging nickname is absurd.

If you liked my post, please take the time to upvote it. It's very much appreciated.

But what's got this to do with this thread?

In all honesty, maybe the best approach would be to ban Frimley. Because every time he posts it feels like we get a case of "whataboutery" which isn't addressed, and derails what is being discussed.

I appreciate he had, if I'm polite, an approach which rubbed people up the wrong way, particularly during the inconsistent spell Town had. But if it's going to be brought up time and time again the rut and disiveness will continue in thread after thread. Maybe he will be driven from the forum. Maybe that's the whole point.

The thread is about people overreacting on forums. A little late to ban him now but I do think we should monitor the number of ignores because it is a good barometer and people that use the forum on a more casual basis aren't able to use the facility .

I had him on ignore but the forum was hard to use so I took him off. It wasn’t that I was missing his riveting and considered insight.

Maybe I should just ignore him.

It is, and I suppose Frimley did start it with commenting on how fans opinions can swing everywhere on bad performances, e.g. Mumba at Plymouth. There were a couple of reasonable replies, then came the first direct jab and it escalated from there to where we are now. And it tends to do wherever Frimley posts.

Personal opinion - people need to move on and, if Frimley hoists himself on his own petard in the future, then I'm sure the ban stick will be used pretty swiftly. But I don't think retreading old ground is helping anyone.

... Bank Holiday weekend

Those forums are crying out for a couple of soothing wins from their wobbling teams.. I think Plymouth players are going to have a very big point to prove following Wembley capitulation

And that will make things look very very very different

We've just got to hold our nerves and keep piling on the pressure

Again, not the discussion that was taking place in this thread between me and Stewart.

You may have seen i've made the effort to do everything everyone has requested over the past month (Discussing football and not taking threads in another direction, but people, as yourself has done here, have preferred to ignore that and concentrate on the alternative of bringing up the things you felt made the forum unuseable. by doing what made the forum unuseable which is taking threads away from the OP and filling it with endless replies by me arguing for no reason.

It's obvious the things you didn't like, it's been said by the many, i've made the effort to utilise the forum in a better way.

No I won't apologise again for wanting certain players dropped at a certain time, and wont apologise for having that opinion, I was wrong with the burns description, i've said that, I don't need to apologise again or the 18 month old comment on KM, I've already apologised about that.

a niche perspective
