If that were the case, surely they wouldn't split up the 8 and 10, they'd just make it 8+.

I think only 10 are guaranteed.

So the entire allocation is going to fans who have been to at least 8 away games already, that's how I see it.

Yes, you should be ok. The availability has remained much the same since the first hour they were available.

The email does not guarantee your ticket so you will need to be online at 10 tomorrow.
