Anyone have a small amount of sympathy for Sheff Wed 07:57 - Apr 30 with 7213 viewsDamster

Just cannot imagine how they are feeling and such an Ipswich of the past mess up from them.
To make matters worse their points total would win them the league in most seasons. To get caught by Ipswich who have been on a run of 14 wins including 4 incredibly hard away games is just ridiculous. This end of the season is simply unique and not one we will probably see for a long time. Still can’t believe it is our Ipswich who was been on this mental run of form at the right time.
Nearly as hard to believe as being 4-0 up in a tense must win game after 20 minutes yesterday. Football. 😂

I am sure that some dads take their kids to see Wednesday, just as dads take their kids to PR. I know mine did back in the 50's and whilst I cannot agree with the current mamby pamby attitude that you don't have losers, only runners up I am sure a lot of kiiddies will be very upset if Wednesday don't get promoted via the playoffs. We should as fans have a bit of empathy with Wednesday fans. Best not to be lowered to the level of some.

Yeah, I have.

We are all football fans and their performance this season has deserved promotion.

Like us, they will have good decent fans along with a few plums.

So yes, I feel sorry for them and if there's justice they will get their promotion at Wembley.

The Sheff Wed team deserve to win promotion through the play-offs as clearly the next best side over a 46-game season.

But I had the misfortune at Hillsborough for our match of being in the section of the home end that almost got the game abandoned by repeatedly pelting the lino with lighters. They gave him dog's abuse all game. There was one guy directly behind me only a few rows back from the touchline who spent most of the match bellowing that he was a 'bent b**stard' and a 'c**nt'.

The home fans, who turned on their team very easily at 0-1 and 0-2, created a very loud, intimidating atmosphere when we let them back into the game. No surprise then when the officials allowed Smith's suspiciously offside looking equaliser to stand. They probably feared a riot if they'd disallowed it.

One of many fine margin moments over the course of a season where we're currently set to miss out on the title by a point but I haven't any sympathy for the moronic element of their fanbase - hopefully a minority - that I saw at close quarters that day...

Nah, as others have said some of their fans have come across as complete meatheads. They took 2 points off us due to an absolutely ridiculous offside decision probably because they chucked stuff at the officials all game. I’m sorry that a record points total was required for automatic promotion but too bad. Barnsley fans got a bit weird after the Jamaica fiasco but I’d rather them win the playoffs.
