Job at the EADT anyone? on 22:00 - May 1 by DublinBlue84 | That's what I object to paying the £7.99 when it goes up to that. I've paid the £3 for the first three months as I think that's alright, but the general standard of journalism in the Star and EADT in terms of the news is appalling, the news content has close to no value to me, not because I'm not interested in the local news, but because of the fact the quality of the journalism in that part of the paper is so poor. Also what irks me is they expect us to pay 7.99 for access to everything despite the fact that the news content has little value in terms of quality, but they are happy to sell Football only coverage to Norwich fans for 1.99 a month or 19.99 per year for those at wanting it whilst giving Ipswich fans no such option. |
That's my problem - I'm not paying £7.99 a month when all I want is the footy. However, £1.99 a month/£20 a year for footy only - yes, I'd pay that. They've priced it wrong from the start and their timing is terrible. Why not finish this glorious season together and then transition into reasonably priced football journalism when everyone is in great spirits? Now I'm annoyed that I only get cut-down snippets of Stu/Andy outside the paywall but already getting used to not having them. Th8s will backfire for the EADT and can see Andy/Stu leaving. Pity.
Job at the EADT anyone? on 07:34 - May 6 with 653 views | MattinLondon | I would apply but the rather poor 25 days holiday days puts me off. I’d expect at least 30 plus bank holidays. Unbelievable.

Job at the EADT anyone? on 21:46 - May 1 by muhrensleftfoot | Well I for one probably won't read much from Stuart Andy and the rest any more. It's a shame as I enjoy their columns particularly after a game with Stu's observations etc But I refuse to pay for it. I do hope the advertisers stop paying Newsquest when they see that thousands of "clicks" become just a few. Putting up a paywaĺl is short sighted and I can't see it working out We are so lucky to have Phil at TWTD. |
"I enjoy their columns particularly after a game with Stu's observations etc But I refuse to pay for it." Here lies the problem for anyone wanting quality journalism. Maybe I'm taking your comment out of context though? Do you mean you're okay with loads of banner and pop up ads? I find most news websites unreadable without subs. There's a fair point elsewhere here about Nodge fans getting a twenty quid a year deal for just the sports coverage. And I agree there's no chance I'd pay eight quid a month for the EADT general news cos the content is relatively poor, and I'm only interested in the local sports coverage. So, would you pay a smaller sub just for the sports?
