League one 2006/07 16:57 - May 3 with 2948 viewsWhens_Lunch

Mate at work showed me a table from a year Forest had a disaster in the League one play-offs.
Plenty of clubs who are no longer in the League and a few Premier clubs.

Amazing what can happen over a long period

Incredible that only two sides from that table competed against us this season.

yes, 3 of the top 6 no longer league clubs.

if history repeats we(2nd)'ll be in the championship in 2038/39
plymouth(1st), bolton(5th) & derby(6th) will be non-league
barnsley(4th) will be in the prem
and
sheff wednesday will suffer a few months of mick (now 81yo) before being relegated back to league 1!

it couldn't happen, could it?!

Indeed, it always seems as though you can look at a Championship table from any year and half the teams are the same, but League One appears to vary greatly over the course of time. Very few teams would probably consider it their natural home. I think Fleetwood are the current longest serving team.

Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford in the bottom seven really stands out, considering where they are now.

10 years ago Yeovil beat Brentford in the League One playoff final and next season they'll be five divisions lower than them.

I went to the one and only League game Town have played at Huish Park (including the yomp through a housing estate to that pub).

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

I think I'm right in saying Kieffer Moore hit the post for Yeovil that day, which is closer than he ever came to scoring a goal for Town.

The stain of playing in League 1.

You could say "the rest is history" or .... "you're history".

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

He did, altho made less of an impression upon my recollections of that evening than he evidently did with McCarthy's.

…..so Ian Milne said whilst bigging up us signing him.

What a time that was to be alive.

My head is hurting - I do not remember Scunny in Championship.

Admittedly from 2000 to 2010 I didn't get to many games because of working overseas, working Saturdays when back in UK, not being able to afford it, often no-one to go with.

That league table, as a snap shot in time needs a "where are they now" caption, there's some clubs there now enjoying their best of times.

Shame about Scunny.

They are an absolute mess. Crazy to think in they finished one place above Palace in the Championship in 2010 (and only five places below us).

I work with a fan - they currently can’t accept card payments - as directed by the card merchants - so he had to pay for his season ticket in cash.

Sito ran through half the team and scored at Scunthorpe, was a rare win on the road in that weird season under Jim where we were top of the home league table but would've been relegated based on away games

Christ I forgot about that, now remember we finally won away in Feb, and that was immediately followed by our first home loss.
