Saw The Go! Team years ago at Latitude, and may give them a look when I go to Bearded Theory at the end of the month. As you say, it is nice to listen to (and watch) bands you have not heard of, or have heard of but don't know anything much about. Currently catching up on Public Service Broadcasting and discovering Viagra Boys:
I’ll be there & hopefully a lot less stressed than at Sound City 21 (full disclaimer, I’m the festival director…haha )!
Thanks so much for buying a ticket, it will be a great weekend hopping/staggering around the town drinking too much Adnams!
We’re trying our best to bring quality artisits back to Ipswich with the festival and our venues. I’m hoping this will be a great weekend for all who come.
Please check out the Spotify link from the website www.brightenthecorners.co.uk and the weekend planner will be out soon. It’s great to discover new bands/artists and without the Sound City festivals I personally wouldn’t have got into WH Lung, The Murder Capital, Jelani Blackman, Yard Act and others as soon as I would have without it. Hopefully the acts this year (Jords, cowboyy & Anthony Szmierek being a few I recommend) will carry on the same trajectory!
Totally recommend seeing Swailsy’s band, Post. Will you have have any music out before then mate?
We’re also thinking of opening The Baths and St Stephen’s church before town games next season as I think we need some more pre-match watering holes!
Hope to see some TWTDers there!

Not making BT this year. Just didn't work out for most of the group I go with.
I’ll be going. Got tickets as soon as they came out for both days, before knowing who would be playing. Been so good the last 2 so would certainly recommend. I’ve been lucky enough to tag along with Dubs to see loads of bands I’ve not known before, as he generally has a pretty good idea, so it’s been great!
Yep, got a Saturday ticket, so will be making the drive over, meeting with some mates, sinking too many beers and getting to know some new bands. Can’t wait!

100%, saw 86TVs last year at Omera (The Maccabees minus Orlando) and they were awesome, then there’s Tom Ravenscroft, Ditz, Jehst, Jamz… Morison Idols, it’s going to be brilliant. About the only act I’m not fussed by is The Go Team tbh 😂 every year so far I’ve found a new favourite, Yard Act, Grove, The Murder Capital… it’s the best weekend of the year bar the opening game of the season (and for once the final home game) IMO.

It was 6 Music pushing Anthony Szmierek so hard that made me see if he was playing anywhere relatively close to me and I saw that he's doing BTC.
Hoping to come with some friends from Colchester and enjoy some new stuff.

Arse, wish I'd known that a few months ago :-/
Sorry to hear that mate, it’s been tough getting the marketing/word out there. Hopefully you can get to some other gigs during the year, there should be an email sign up on the site. We’ll have a lot on with 3 venues that we’re trying to get up and running.
At the Baths we’re tempted to test some indie nights after home games. Open to any suggestions that people have for events and artists that are currently lacking in Ipswich. ðŸ‘
