In McKenna's team there is no such thing as defenders, midfielders and attackers. Only footballers

I'd go as far as to say it's reasonable in the grand scheme of transfer suggestions on this forum. We signed Morsy at 29 when he wasn't able to hold down a place at Middlesbrough. We trialled Luongo at 30 when he was unfit, with injury issues and rejected by Middlesbrough. We signed Camara at 25 when we knew he was injured. We signed Broadhead at 24 when he had persistent hamstring injuries and was yet to reach 40 career starts. We signed Dom Ball (26) and Tom Carroll (29) when they were released by QPR. So our recent transfer history includes taking 'leaps of faith' on players who are at lower ebbs in their careers, in the expectation that with coaching and medical care they will push on once more. Nick Powell was Stoke's best player and upwardly mobile until his injury in October 2021. There are Stoke fans who believe he will move upwards rather than downwards this summer, with the majority thinking he will move laterally. I don't see us wanting him having said all that 😂

I actually suggested Powell no knowledge of him coming here But the type of player if some leave for whatever reason or don't sign. Has pedigree at championship level May not be a starter here but free and proven.

Yeah, as a lower league club it isn't really tenable to take the attitude that every player you take on has to be a sure thing. There are always going to be really talented players who are only really available to you because something went wrong for them at some point.

Aye, and now we're a Championship club we'll be more choosy. Half that list wouldn't be considered today. Would Broadhead, Morsy and Luongo though? I include Broadhead because Sunderland decided to leave him behind last summer. I hope all three will be playing for us next season on account of the club's confidence they can compete well at this level. In the event those three are considered good enough for a Championship push, it's plausible we will still be looking at players who aren't currently excelling in our new league.

I'm sure Taylor is still at the top of his list, he can play the holding role and as a number ten as he did at Barnsley recently, one year left on his contract, even if Posh do go up they'll cash in..
