What an amazing weekend that was then, any one who missed it really needs to get on board for next year. Huge shout out to Joe, Marcus, Caitlin and Jamie, plus the army they had helping with things this year.

Big things really are happening with the live music scene in Ipswich, so keep an eye out for more gigs over the coming months.

What a weekend!!

Great to see some TWTD’ers. Highlights for me were Picture Parlour, Honeyglaze and the Go Team!.

God the Go Team! were so much fun. At times I felt like I was in the Astoria in the early 2000s, rather than Ipswich. Such a good vibe.

Huge shout out to Joe, Marcus, Gareth, Kaitlyn and loads of others who I haven’t mentioned. What a weekend for the town. A proper festival.

I was there yesterday, was a really good day and such a fantastic thing to be happening in Ipswich, a big well done to the organisers and all the bands that played.

Saw Swailsey's Post at The Baths (presume that was you in the white Pioneer sponsored Town shirt), Antony Szmierek at St Stephens Church, Gaffa Tape Sandy and Dolores Forever at the Corn Exchange (really liked them), then Carsick (not really my thing but the people I was with liked them) and Kyoto Kyoto (v. loud) and and Baba Ali (liked them) at the Smokehouse before ending up at the Corn Exchange for Go Team. Don't know whether it was me just being a bit knackered but they didn't sound great to me.

All in all a brilliant way to spend a Saturday to have the chance to see so much varied music that was mostly brand new to me.

What he said…

An excellent weekend. Thanks to Joe, Marcus and team for pulling it together. Thanks to Dubs for curating my experience in such a well organised way - loved the ‘tasting notes’!

Some great bands seen. My highlights were Snake Eyes, Picture Parlour and The Lounge Society on Friday, Saturday highlights were: Post (genuinely enjoyed a great set), Triptides, Gengahr, Rozi Plain and a chilled bit in the sunshine watching fishclaw. Caught the end of the Go Team which seemed like it had been good!

Will look forward to the next one, whenever that will be!

Was only down for the Saturday, but what a great day! Caught a bit of Native James to start, few beers up the hound, then carsick, who I liked, on to the corn exchange for triptide, gengarhr, Ishmael ensemble and go team. Then to the baths for pleasure pool and ravers. Amazing event for ipswich to hold. I haven’t lived in ipswich for over 30 years, but this really felt special. Something to put the town on the map, music wise. It seems to me, from the outside, that there are some that want to run the town down, but this was a fantastic event. Fresh, lively, relevant, sometimes raw, sometimes polished: I will 100% be back next year. Massive congratulations to all those who helped with the organisation and running of the weekend.

Triptides were incredible.

I could've watch them play all night. Had a chat with them at the bar later in the evening and they're really enjoying themselves presently.

Oh, 86TV's were quite dull.

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

We really enjoyed Triptides too. One of the few bands who (just about) managed to get the sound right in the corn exchange.

This, along with a couple of Mosaic this evening has made my day. Thank you and we can’t wait for the next one. What’s great is, so many people have had different highlights and of course, some bands may have an off day or have not translated well. I’m gutted I missed fat dog, cowboyy, Jords and many more but… O. and Anthony Szmierek were my favourites (and it’s fine if people didn’t like them). I’m just so happy to have put on artists I think are ace in the town I love!

Thanks folks

Re the line-up - full disclosure, I was a little underwhelmed when it was announced. Not because I thought it was bad, just because it wasn't full of bands that I already knew and loved (unlike the 2 previous SC events), obviously there was plenty that I'd heard of, but not that I owned music by. There wasn't a scenario where I wasn't going to get a ticket, but it changed it to a weekend of discovering new (to me) bands rather than checking out all my favourites.

With that in mind - we saw fifteen acts over the weekend and only disliked one, and there were another 20 or so acts that we'd have liked to see if clashes had allowed.

So a huge shout out to all of you involved in curating this line-up, I can imagine a lot of deliberation goes into it as getting it wrong could be disastrous, but the overall mix was pretty much perfect. And the hundreds (thousands?) of happy punters over the weekend suggest I'm not the only one who thinks that.

Regarding the numbers and as I have never been, does it feel busier in town when the event is on or wouldn't you know? How many tickets are sold for each day inc weekend tickets I wonder?

I don't really know what the town centre is like on a Saturday now, but there were a lot of people with wristbands bobbing around between the venues, and the open air Cornhill stage is a great hub for people to congregate at especially with the Adnams bar and food trucks.

The Smokehouse, Baths and St Stephens Church were all very busy every time I was in them, and the Corn Exchange got pretty full for the headliners.

Didn't know about the open air bit, it sounds great.
