Banksy I know you get a bit of stick on here at times from some but I’ve always found you alright myself. Albeit you can be abit quick to judge any of what I say. But on the whole, a good poster with good intentions.

BUT.. what on earth has just possessed you to say RIP to a bloke who decided to detonate a bomb 16 different times and murder 3 people? What has gone through your mind there to possibly have any level of nicety towards this man?

I didn't give it a lot of thought Rommers other than giving BB the reaction he obviously craved. I realise it was aimed at Chico though.
However, in hindsight from the little I know about him (have you read the wiki link btw) he seems highly intelligent(I largely agree with his analysis of industrial society and its impact on ecology and individuals), did his best to live off grid but found there was no escape and comes across as a somewhat tortured soul. I have a degree of empathy with what led him to take the actions he did, being a bit of a tortured soul myself to varying degrees in the past, even if they are not ones I would choose. In a sense he will have now found some sense of peace and I have no problem with that.
I actually have more contempt for those that can see the mess we are making but find it more comfortable to keep the blinkers on because well, what can you do.

Fair enough. That’s a lot better to justify than ‘RIP’ as I’m sure you’d agree. I hadn’t seen your other responses when replying tbh.

He was undoubtedly intelligent. Went to Harvard aged 16 with an IQ of 167. But you can be the smartest geezer in the world but if you’re using that intellect to target innocent people, I lose any sympathy I would have about him being obviously in pain in his brain (totally agree about the tortured soul element).

Bombed almost as many people as Nelson Mandela.

The "Mandela was a terrorist" is always an interesting take.
It is without doubt factually correct that he was imprisoned for treason against the state for activities against the apatheid regime.
So yes, the regime classified him as a terrorist.
I'm genuinely interested to know if you are just repeating the fact that the oppressive minority white South African regime considered Mandela a terrorist or whether you yourself consider him to be a terrorist?

Again you are suggesting that I think bombing people is a solution, he would have been better off blowing up the machinery of industrial globalisation imho.
As for solutions, well at this point there probably aren't any as for decades now supposedly smart people have turned a blind eye to pursue bullsh1t career paths and other life choices because, well what can you do.

Firstly, I didn't suggest you think bombing people is a solution, so quite intriguing you thought that. I was merely referring to it being his solution.

Secondly, you admit nothing can be done. So when you harangue the likes of myself for my vote, it's actually trying something a little more than you are.

Either way I can't win. I vote Labour and I'm perpetuating the same old. I do nothing (like you) and I'm perpetuating the same old.

You need to improve your sentence structure then!

I think you could probably do more to benefit meaningful change by not working in an industry that encourages the production and buying of sh1t rather than voting for a different shade of it but that's probably just me.

I am doing far from nothing....I literally just got back from harvesting(some might even consider it stealing!!) some locally sourced, artisan hazel bean poles. I realise the proper choice is to buy imported bamboo but what can you do? And that's just this morning!!

I've just been working on a charity brief, actually. And before that something supporting Pride. Advertising's not all bad. It's also what I'm good at. As much as I'd love to make a living making art that enriches people's lives, that doesn't pay my mortgage. So what's a boy to do? Not like the ad industry is just going to collapse if I boycott it anyway.

Also, I guarantee advertising has influenced you in some way. And when it does, that stuff is measured. So you've perpetuated it.

However, I admire your purchase of locally sourced, un-advertised artisan hazel bean poles. We are all saved.

The Rebel Alliance in Star Wars were a terrorist organisation, and they definitely weren't the bad guys. At least I think that was the takeaway from the film anyway.
