Starting to not look very clever.

Looking at the forecast it's supoised to be cloudy tomorrow and sunday (possible rain sunday) but still warm, suggests conditions might be good for bowling, assume we won the toss? If so a good one to win.

Conditions and the toss might play a big part in this one

Broad's long given up trying to support the better player at the crease. Moeen played so loose as well, never looked like getting to 30.

And we've just declared 😂

It wouldn't even surprise me if Stokes let's us get to 400 tonight, declare and stick Aus in for 5 or 6 overs.

Called it.

I don't like that personally. Rather we carried on swinging, might as well try and stick another 20 on.

I like Stokes but sometimes I think he tries too hard to be alpha.

We've got our best batsman of the last 50 years seeing it like a beach ball and could easily have added another 60 odd. If it qas Robinson and Jimmy left, fair enough. Hopefully, we don't regret this.

Obviously if Aus are 2 down at the close, it's a masterstroke.

Yeah my thoughts same as you both.

We've potentially declined a good amount of runs and if we don't get at least a couple it's a self-inflicted psychological blow.

We scored 20 off the last over, why didn't we keep on slogging it until the new ball came?

Yes, kind of feels like that's what we should have done At least until Root was out.

Still been a good day of Test cricket, despite being a bit below what I would have liked from England, the match probably turns on whether England can keep picking up wickets when the runs are flowing like Australia did today.

Not sure our bowling attack is strong enough on this pitch to support what we've just done, hope I'm wrong, I know he obviously wanted a few overs at the Aussies for the chance of a wicket but I'd have seen the day out and try to get at least to 450, but I'm old school now..

Yes, esp after seeing them navigate those closing overs....hit out by all means but 5 days in this if Sunday is bit of a washout...450 would look imposing walking out on an overcast 2nd day

Good recovery. Bairstow loosening up.

Hollies stand in terrific voice now too.

I was in the Hollies today and it was absolutely superb. The place was bouncing towards the end, Lyon was given a torrid time and my mate was still so hungover from last night that he was sick into a bag at 6pm. Marvellous.
