BBC Breakfast running a story about the end of the Ford Fiesta this morning and the reporter keeps saying, "This, is the M. K. One Fiesta".

The voice in my head automatically shouts - "ITS PRONOUNCED MARK!!! YOU SH^TNUGGET"

Too much coffee maybe.

You must have such a dull time of it. It's when the fuel light has been on for eighty miles, the needle is sitting on 'E' and your digital display is no longer telling you how many miles you have left that life gets interesting.

Silly, all you need to do then is start a thread on here claiming to be on a moped in Middlesborough, desperate to get back to Suffolk :)

You wait until someone starts talking to you about a Ford Ka

Do you know what Ka Ka means in French?
2 year olds use the term to tell mummy to empty the potty as in...
... Mama, J'ai fait caca (poo-poo).

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

In the red is the way to live. Freewheeling down hills and refusing to brake for corners...

If that's in a tractor then that's Death Wish driving.

Fate is fickle but I think you're safe as I've no plans to visit Suffolk yet.
My 13 year-old Fiesta though.......

I only drive in the 20mph zones around Bristol avoiding the ULEZ, which I'm not liable for paying even if I drove into it.

After 12 years my Fiesta has only done 17,000 miles.
I have an OAP bus pass which I use most of the time for visiting the Waterfront bars, Museums and Galleries. Parking is a PITA in Bristol Center.

Once a year I do the Cheddar run which is M5 to Weston-super-mare and visit the sea front for a beer. Then off to Cheddar for another beer and then monster it up the gorge.
After that, I drive the back roads over the Mendips and down Chew Valley and onto Dundry Hill.
It's not Italian mountain roads aka Top Gear but it's fun.

Have you got a fave route where you can monster the car with no fear of the Police spotting you?

I'm finding your use of the word 'Monster' quite weird.
Even more so when referring to a Ford Fiesta.

15 year old Ford focus with 145,000 miles on clock for work. Tractor is just for pleasure

That reads like a downmarket version of the start of "Fear and Loathing...."

That's what my attorney says as he rolls a joint for me in the passenger seat...

[I keep telling him there are some Rizla in the glove compartment but, there again, the burnt faux leather has a certain pleasurable line of attack on the back of the throat...]

It's one of those "you have to be there" tings.
It's a 1.4 Zetec engine so at high revs it acts like a turbo. In 2nd gear at 40mph it's screaming so much you can't hear the stereo and by the way, there's stones planted at the kerbside at Cheddar Gorge to stop Travellers parking up and it's very bendy.
It's a right of passage and you get about 30 cars every evening doing it.

I drove over to the Cairngorms last Saturday on my 'secret' route that leaves the A road at Fort Augustus and the B road at Farr to go over some hills on which I have only ever seen one other vehicle before getting to some cattle grid crossings that have 'At Your Own Risk' signs next to them. Met four motorcycles and passed two clay pigeon shooting parties this time. Still, it is the nearest I have found to an as the crow flies route.

Or so I thought. Got absolutely battered by the wind climbing Bynack More and decided to forget the rest of my three day planned trip. Drove home up the A9 and then the A82 / A87 to Skye - the adjacent sides turned out to be a five mile shorter route than my assumed hypotenuse...
