I think I'm right in saying that his wife has Altzheimers? Not sure 'using' her in this way sits easily with me, but each to their own. It is cringeworthy viewing - and so false as he comes across so differently from his phone-in persona.
If that is the case then maybe we could all be a bit kinder. If this helps him get through the day and gives him something to look forward to then it is a good thing. Hopefully he is able to be a kind and patient carer to his wife.
