Don't think so, the GAA grounds are really hallowed turf I.e. GAA sports only. Gaelic football, Hurling or camogie only.
Croke Park is an amazing 80k plus stadium! The only other non GAA sport played there was when Landsdowne Road was being developed...which became the Aviva which is shared by the FAI/IRFU and is circa 45k capacity.
The 2007-2009 six nations is when Croke Park was in play.... |
I believe they're using Lansdowne Road (Aviva) and renaming it Dublin Arena, then the other place will be a redeveloped Casement Park. Presumably then given the moniker Belfast Arena for the tournament.
