In relation to "3,", some who purport to have some degree of inside knowledge assert that we have missed out on a player that the club thought was pretty much a dead cert to sign.
Whether that means that the window is a debacle, or that we should all be panicking, are different questions. Personally, I am content and relaxed, and I think that we just need to accept that we will not get all of our targets (we probably never ever got all our targets, but some information leaks, and some does not). We are trying to compete with a handful of clubs with much deeper pockets, and FFP in the Champ is very different from SCMP in league one. Last year we were able to acquire players whose level was above our own division. That is a much much harder trick to pull off in the Champ. We need to get in the highest quality we can, and then trust KMac to ensure that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Which I'm confident he can and will. |  | | |
