Really interesting comment from Chambers on Woolfenden 08:57 - Aug 4 with 3845 viewsAsa

Chambers said that he plays to his level. In League One he looks a League One player. If he played in the Premier League, he'd look a Premier League player.

Had never really thought about it but found myself agreeing that, without any evidence of how he'd perform at the level above (aside from a handful of Championship games), that is exactly how I feel about him.

I'd argue that he looked well above a League One player last season, but whenever Woolfenden has been in a team of average players, he's not stood out like you can sometimes do, but looked average.

In a team of exceptional players, he's looked exceptional himself. Can really see him pushing on this season and looking every inch the part again and what Chambers has said suggests he's expecting that.

Someone recently posted a tweet from Stats bomb showing that based on analytics, Levi Colwill and Woolfy are the closest match to Van Dijk. If Chambers is right, we have one of the best central defenders in the game right now!

He has all the tools in his locker to play at championship level... Possibly higher.. still think he needs to make sure his concentration levels remain for 90 mins and having gone to the Cambridge pre season friendly he did struggle against Ahadme in the air.. think that's possibly one area he could still improve on, but he's come on leaps and bounds under KMck

Where does this concentration thing come from. He doesn’t make mistakes.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

Think it's fairly well documented, even by Woolfie himself that he's naturally a fairly laid back character.. he has made mistakes at times, when bringing the ball out from the back.. that's fine, as that's the way McKenna wants us to play and is better than the McCarthy days of hoof..

I mean, he made errors in the Cook days, which directly led to goals being conceded.. he's moved on from that though and upped his game, which is good

Yep, got much closer to an England call up than Magilton ever did.

Poor Jim had to settle for 52 caps for Northern Ireland.

“ I mean, he made errors in the Cook days, which directly led to goals being conceded”

That’s because he was being coached by a bunch of scousers Cook met in a pub.
