Away Tickets 18:23 - Sep 4 with 24518 views | mattrolow | I know this has been covered, but I’m getting really bored of this whole ego filled ticket mafia the membership scheme has created. Just created a bunch of wannabe Twitter popular weirdos offering out their tickets to get the points. Would love it if the club took the points off every single one of them.

It will be an interesting test for Ashton…. on 11:31 - Sep 7 by PJH | Yes, they must have known that they had more GC holders than tickets available and as some of them were no doubt later arrivals joining the bandwagon because things looked like getting interesting, it should have been letters to those that had already been going to all/most of the away games. |
Yes, that was how I saw it. Buying a Gold Card the week before tickets went on sale gave those people the same priority as anyone else with a GC irrespective of how many games they went to. That the club used a priority system for Cheltenham, Fleetwood and even Peterborough after that is an admission they got it wrong for Cambridge.

Away Tickets on 10:00 - Sep 7 by Brads | I wasn’t moaning anyway, just thought it was funny that you said you spent an hour reading the thread and then added to it just to moan about others moaning (despite apparently being disgusted by it). Not sure responding with a sexist comment is appropriate either. Probably best to ignore a discussion on a topic that you’re not interested in so it doesn’t continue to wind you up. |
Being that I am a woman hardly make it sexist. But, I can not control how you feel. Have a good day 🤦😊

It will be an interesting test for Ashton…. on 15:59 - Sep 6 by Plums | It's a race to the bottom. I've been going to away games for 40+ years without needing to pay for the privilege of buying a ticket. I love the club and most of what the new owners are doing but I'm not being held to ransom by them. |
I agree, I'm not paying £40 just to access already (in some cases) steep ticket prices. I have been looking into attending match at Goodison Park before Everton move out - looked into both home and away tickets. All PL clubs have some sort of priority scheme and it seems I can't just "join" and purchase an away ticket without ever having been to a home match (ie Bournemouth, who I presume would not sell out their allocation). Impossible to get a home ticket at Everton.
Away Tickets on 09:30 - Sep 8 with 1025 views | tractorshark | I don’t think anyone has a major issue with letting a family member or friend use your membership on an occasional basis. It’s just when people are hawking their memberships to strangers for points. Last year it was done in good faith and was less of an issue. This year it’s causing friction because demand is higher and those offenders are creating an unlevel playing field for members who are abiding by the rules. No membership or away ticket scheme is ever going to be perfect. And you won’t keep everyone happy. But it’s not asking the world for people to play by the rules. I’ve said it before if you’ve got enough points to qualify for the early priority stages, you must be a regular and won’t miss out on Norwich etc even if you don’t attend every away game. From what I’ve seen, the club appear to be acting.

I know someone trying to do the 92 and he says the Prem is now virtually impossible because of this. Unless you buy from Viagogo etc which is effectively legalised touting.

Depends on the club. I did Newcastle, City, West Ham & Spurs last season. A few needed membership. Always tickets at Spurs even for big games on the exchange (season ticket returns). Liverpool and Arsenal wasn’t possible. Would need to get lucky in the ballot for Anfield.

It will be an interesting test for Ashton…. on 10:30 - Sep 7 by billlm | Demand always exceeds demand otherwise this thread and issue wouldn't be discussed, Just have an open field then there would be no issue first come first served, |
It won't work and isn't fair for those of us who have greater points because we invested signifiant amount of money last year. A lot of us can't sit on a computer at 10am to try and get a ticket - work gets in the way so the system of a longer window based on number of points is great as it guarentees me a ticket for the games I want with less stress

I do think there is a fair question over where the line is drawn. For me, a level of priority was needed to ensure those that show 'ultra commitment' (maybe 10+ aways last season) always get a ticket should they want one. Personally though, I don't draw much distinction between people below that and I think a costly solution (for fans, but great for the club) has been generated for an issue that didn't really exist. For the majority, it's made getting away tickets for games more stressful rather than less stressful - having friends/family in different priority levels etc. But it is here to stay now and seems the way lots of clubs are going. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Away Tickets on 19:01 - Sep 8 with 663 views | Brads | In Wroclaw for the England game and there’s no escape. A group behind us on the bus from the airport replicated this thread almost word for word! Fans of a Premier League club. It’s not going away any time soon! There’ll be a points debate in Parliament soon.
