I guess the same reason that the stands were empty - it just isn’t anywhere near as good to watch as the men’s. In contrast with women’s golf, hockey, athletics, tennis, gymnastics and others which are all very watchable.
I fear that women’s football has been over hyped ahead of the actual progress in the quality of the content. |  | | |

10 years ago i'd have agreed with you, i'd have been Andy Gray/Richard Keys having a big ol' laugh at the standard. I'm not a big 'fan' but you have to be blind not to see the progress and that whilst the womens game is a lot slower there are excellent technical players.
Think Ipswich's crowd at Felixstowe was near 700, not forgetting we are in the 3rd tier. Better than a lot of non-league crowds. And top division games are pulling in very good crowds. [Post edited 12 Sep 2023 16:13]

I wasn’t commenting on the clip. The cross and strike were both excellent. My point was that overall the games lack intensity and skill levels (despite occasional glimpses of excellence).
I coached my daughters team so I hope the women’s game continues to improve and gets to the level where it sits equal, though different, to the men’s game. Just as women’s golf does. At the moment in my view it is well short of that level. | | | |

I enjoy watching. The skill levels are off the charts compared to what I could do when I played, so I find it easy to appreciate and enjoy. I’ll watch my local team down the park though, so I’m probably not a good benchmark. |  |
