But Taylor is giving the ball away far too often.

"I hate getting on at players"

Me neither, it's completely pointless when we're getting results and can only breed negatively. Why do you think people do it? Is it because they think KMc isn't aware of it. Or perhaps it's because they're desperate to tell others they are watching/listening to the match. Or is it because they actually don't hate getting at players.....

I dislike criticising our own players and tend to over defend poor performances. But this was posted during a game which was on a knife edge when Taylor had once again given the ball away when we were on the attack, which out a lot of pressure on our backline as most of them were upfield joining the attack.

KM was obviously aware of it because just seconds after my post, he brought Taylor off.

From his performances in the cup games and his time with Peterborough, Taylor has proven to be an excellent attacking midfielder who has an eye for goal. He will be a very good player for us.

That Taylor wasn't on display last night and I don’t think it’s unfair to discuss player performance in a football message board during a game of football.

The only positive from his performance is that it gave Mass a bit of a break.
Wasn’t impressed with him lastnight

He had a tendency to give the ball away in the pre-season friendlies I saw, including Luton and Preston.

His natural instinct is to get forward, but he sometimes appears to be too keen to do so, without necessarily having proper control of the ball.

I am sure McKenna will work on him and improve that aspect of his game, but if it is defensive solidity you need, Massimo is your man. But he also brings composure on the ball, and the ability to put through decent forward balls.

In hindsight, if we wanted to give Luongo a rest it probably should have been at Wednesday. Think that game would have suited Taylor more.

Saying that I was unimpressed with him last night and, from that and that alone, would prefer to see Ball or even Evans in the middle when Morsy serves his inevitable suspension. However, Hirst and Hutchinson are great examples of players who have less than stunning debuts but then develop quickly here. Hopefully Taylor will follow the same route.
