There is a fella called Marlon Solomon who does a one man show on conspiracies called "A Lizard's Tale". Well worth watching.

One can't do any better than quote David Baddiel on conspiracy theories.

Conspiracy theories are the way stupid people think they are intellectuals.

He mentions David Icke, which got me thinking.

Fruit loop or conman/grifter?

If he's the latter he's a genius given how much he's made.

I have wondered how many of the ‘influential’ conspiracy theorists actually believe what they say on their social media accounts. I imagine the proportion of those types who just say ridiculous things to cash in from their followers is relatively high.

In that regard, they aren’t too dissimilar from politicians who trade in their beliefs for cabinet posts. The most obvious example being remainers who are now ardent Brexit types.

Both sets of people who both laugh all the way to the bank at the expense of their subscribers or voters.

I probably should have said "evil genius".

Agree with your post, at one level the grifters are just milking idiots, but then you consider the distress caused to the likes of the families of Sandy Hook and you realise the harm these twunts can do.

And is a hell of a statement of the failings of our education system that so many people are unable to simply research/fact check for themselves.

Dangerous anti semite conspiracy theorist. He shouldn’t be afforded even the faintest of praise. He’s as bad and harmful as Alex jones.

Lockdown helped a lot of conmen fleece their followers as it was an unknown virus and nobody had a clue what would happen next. Better to believe some random rubbish about it all being some big pharma conspiracy etc then to try and understand the science and rationale behind lockdown. Being kind, it was a highly confusing and worryingly time.

And I’m guessing that once in that particular rabbit hole it’s kinda hard to get out of it.

Don't disagree, should have worded it better.

But question stands. Does he actually believe the crp he spouts or has he spotted an opportunity to exploit?

Maybe a bit of both?
