Always horrible to see a bad injury on a football field, regardless of allegiance. Was it Luc Nilis who had that nasty one down here several years ago? |
Awful injury and wish him well for a full recovery. Don't know how the crowd reacted but suspect at some grounds and there would be idiots singing "there's nothing wrong with you". |  | | |

There’s idiots everywhere but, in most cases than not, if a player is carried off or hobbles off etc then they get a round of applause. Most fans are decent and don’t wish to see a player injured. |  | | |

Watching the 'Match of the Day' coverage it looked as if the Fulham home crowd gave Basham as warm a round of applause as you can, in commiseration, as he was stretchered off.
