So the next 10 games! What do we need? What do we expect? 19:08 - Nov 12 with 5930 views | unstableblue | If this is what we need for automatic (copyright Jimingreensboro): “Automatics: 1.7 ppm. • That's 51 more points from 30 matches for a total of 90 (ten-year automatic promotion average) • Ex: win 14, draw 9, lose 9” **EDIT - the above is 32 games not 30, so lose 7 That’s 4 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses (ish) from the mega run we’re going to start after the international break (see below). A run where you feel our current 2.44 ppg will drop to 1.7 **EDIT '1.7ppg over 10 games is 17 points, your 4/3/3 split is 15 points. We need 5 wins, 2 draws, 3 losses to hit that target, or 4 wins, 5 draws, 1 defeat (or 6 wins+' Yes yes yes I know ‘one game at a time’… but humour me I think wins could be - Millwall, Coventry, Norwich, QPR Draws - West Brom, Watford, Stoke Losses - Boro, Leeds, Leicester Now I think we can do better… and fancy more from Leicester, Stoke and Watford games But whoooooa what a run of games, so tightly packed, squad needed 25 Nov A West Bromwich Albion 5.30pm 29 Nov H Millwall 8pm 2 Dec H Coventry City 3pm 9 Dec A Middlesbrough 3pm 12 Dec A Watford 7.45pm 16 Dec H Norwich City 12.30pm 23 Dec A Leeds United 12.30pm 26 Dec H Leicester City 7.45pm 29 Dec H Queens Park Rangers 7.45pm 1 Jan A Stoke City 3pm [Post edited 13 Nov 2023 11:26]

So the next 10 games! What do we need? What do we expect? on 23:22 - Nov 13 with 942 views | Churchman | I get the concern over fixtures from now to the end of the year and that other clubs’ supporters might think we will fall away and they may of course be right. However, as was pointed out on the Blue Monday podcast, no team has made a better start to a season than ourselves and Leicester in 10 years. After 16 games, it’s no fluke. We have a good team and one I think will improve as the season goes on. I am reminded how last season when we were in third we faced away trips to Bolton, Derby, Peterborough and Barnsley. They looked tough fixtures yet we beat all four with a 10-0 goals for/against. No, we are not going to repeat that, or at least I doubt it. But 13 wins from 16 games says we should fear nobody and just go and do what we do best. It’s a great challenge. Of all of them, Leeds supporters are beginning to irritate the most, including a mate of mine so doing them would be a particular pleasure. Why not? If they were that great they’d never have got relegated in the first place.

What do we expect? on 13:43 - Nov 13 by PioneerBlue | 10-15 points would be satisfying but a drop of on what we’ve been used to, below 10 and we will be looking up and down probably! Over 20 and the party starts. Anyway, Carrot Root is falling down. One Game At A Time [Post edited 13 Nov 2023 13:46]

That was interesting to reflect upon. W4 D4 L2 Pts16. It looks better like than compared with how the drop off felt watching the games. It’s a satisfying points haul over a difficult run of games. There is obviously a notable Hirst injury now to contend with but the window is open and I expect we will do business to more than compensate. If we were to continue the form we just had we would end on around 87 points. I guess we will need to be a bit better than this for automatic promotion. One Game At A Time.

In some respects the Hirst injury may turn to be a blessing in disguise. Would GH have remained completely injury free throughout the remainder of the season anyway? Whilst far from ideal it is likely we will try and combat this adequately now rather than simply cover with a lesser player. It wouldn't be the end of the world if we become the hunter for a while either. All to play and anything can happen. It usually does in the Championship.
Interesting to look back now this has resurfaced (thanks Pioneer) on 11:13 - Jan 3 with 599 views | unstableblue | We needed to get 17 points from the below run to keep up with that historical automatic level (albeit will this season be higher?) I predicted 15 - “I think wins could be - Millwall, Coventry, Norwich, QPR Draws - West Brom, Watford, Stoke Losses - Boro, Leeds, Leicester” We actually got 16 and quite a different sequence. I think why we’re feeling a little low is the fact the run has been back ended with draws, where QPR and Stoke should have been wins. This is player, fatigue and injury. A good transfer window and some good coaching, and no negative impacts from squad flux, then perhaps we can get back on track. Shame about Morsy and the fact we start with Sunderland home and Leicester away. Pioneer highlights the next 8 in this thread. Can we get 13 points to keep up with the pace. I’m not sure?! I’d say between 12-16. 12 feels like the minimum. And potential Saints will have caught us. But they will blip as we have. 25 Nov A West Bromwich Albion L 29 Nov H Millwall W 2 Dec H Coventry City W 9 Dec A Middlesbrough W 12 Dec A Watford W 16 Dec H Norwich City D 23 Dec A Leeds United L 26 Dec H Leicester City D 29 Dec H Queens Park Rangers D 1 Jan A Stoke City D [Post edited 3 Jan 2024 11:55]

If only we had just one win after Watford , I think all would have seemed on track , we go again albeit without Morsy in next two ……..In McKenna we trust 💙

The QPR result is the gutting one for me. Derby results you never know Leeds Leicester were always tough Stoke away never an easy one. Altho it actually was but we've gone baron. But the qpr home game.. that's a 3 pointer for anyone going for autos. But that result doesn't matter if we get going on a run. But we really do need a strong 8 weeks now.

The QPR team we played is a million miles from Ainsworth's poor performers. Cifuentes hasn't had the easiest start, but they'll improve quickly and won't be the whipping boys for the remainder of the season.
