Are you an electrician? You have a strange colleague there. I hope he was OK afterwards.

See my reply to Phil, directly below Phil's post...

That makes sense, I knew there was some joint management going on somewhere in that situation. Thanks

I wonder what the betting is on Keane and McCarthy as joint managers?

Them two together again. That would be a pure comedy.

It would be a pay cut, less talented players, no day to day involvement, more political, the Irish FAI is in such a mess there is a real chance they will loose govt funding because they refused to meet a gender quota on their board which was a condition of preventing them going bankrupt 2 years ago. And he's Northern Irish so no guarantee he has any affiliation to the Republic team as plenty in the area he is from are GAA in their community.
He's also got a project he wants to finish and is loyal and intelligent enough to know it is literally a poisoned chalice at the moment to manage the Irish team.
No chance what so ever.

I could be wrong, but something tells me McKenna would be the type who likes club management too much to want to do international assignments.

Absolutely no chance he does international management yet. Or maybe ever.

He’d send his wife round the bend. He’d have all kinds of strangers in his garden every day doing rondos.

If I was head man in the FAI I’d look to interview Steven Schumacher. No chance of getting McKenna(who I wouldn’t want) so I’d check if Schumacher was interested.

I believe Enzo Maresca has always wanted to manage ROI. Perfect for the role, I reckon.
