Lego Concorde on 13:55 - Dec 31 with 1919 views | Churchman | That’s truly awesome! Lego has come a long was from a baseboard, basic bricks, wheels and a few angled bricks for roofing. Mind you, winners and losers - you don’t get swastikas in Airfix kits these days - boo! A Luftwaffe aircraft looks undressed without them! My buddy who still builds them told me you can get them on the internet. He actually bought me a 1/48 Fw190D-9 as a retirement gift the other year. I must have a go at it when I get time.

But its lost alot of the charm & creativity Lego had by focusing on these bespoke kits so much and each kit comes with entirely bespoke bits. Inspite of the fact I've got the Concorde myself, it's a fantastic kit & model that I'll adore building when I get round to it, it's not even pretending to be for kids anymore. Concorde might be forgiven for being 18+, but so was the Galaxy Space Explorer. The thing as a kid with lego, you'd get 2 or 3 kits, build the base model, but then combine them all together as something better and keep rebuilding, How can you do that with modern lego which looks more like display models akin to airfix style, you see people sharing pictures of all their sets in display cabinets. I don't know modern kids use Minecraft instead don't they, but that was the concept of Lego once too, build stuff using your imagination, not a set of instructions Anyway that's grumpy old man modern world is rubbish rant for the day done :)
