Troy Parrott 19:15 - Jan 1 with 2737 views | Nutkins_Return | Wonder if he has a recall in deal. I'd be all for trying to get that done on a perm. I imagine Spurs would want a reasonable fee. Good profile for Hirst replacement and has found goals against in Dutch top flight. Stansfield would still be preferred choice but if we can't get it done....or both. (Money would scupper that) [Post edited 1 Jan 2024 19:16]

Not for me does he really score goals was hardly amazing the first time regardless of age.

Looked miles off it when on loan here (albeit was still very young), and scored a grand total of 3 goals for Preston in this league last year. We need someone to make an immediate impact, and I don't think he would be that.

Classy player I'd trust McKenna to develop but is his ceiling lower end Prem which we'd want it to be? Not so sure. Think we will McKenna go a bit more McCarthy this window.

Troy Parrott on 19:45 - Jan 1 with 2386 views | Radlett_blue | Parrott has never exactly been prolific & I think we need a ready made player rather than a more experienced Dane Scarlett. Parrott would have been 14 when McKenna moved from Spurs to Man U so I doubt he would be particularly well known to him & while McKenna has a connection with Spurs, I don't see why the fact Parrott spent time at Town before should make him particularly keen to sign him.

He's doing pretty well in the Dutch top flight.

He fits the profile though. 6ft 1 with good pedigree, technically very good and is adding more goals to his game. Hirst at same age had played 60 career games and scored 3 goals. Parrot has the technical ability to bring others in. We know that role Hirst does isn't all about goals. Need athletic rubbing ability and good link up play and I'd say he fits the bill. He was brilliant for Scott twine (see Chaplin). At 21 has potential to ad re-sale value or just get better for us. Doing well in Dutch top flight for a lesser team

Troy Parrott on 08:47 - Jan 2 with 1666 views | glasso | Unfortunately, I think injuries and our current situation might put a little dent in the management team's 'Big Plan' for a while. Normally, I'd say Parrott is perfect for us - young, talented and with some of that KMc magic sprinkled over him, could go on to be an Ipswich legend/big money sale for the club. But right now, we need guaranteed goals, and he ain't that. I wonder if we'll actually go for a late 20s/30 year old striker on loan (no idea who, though!)

Understand what you are saying but Hirst didn't guarantee goals per se himself. Modest return. What he did do was link up play, press and have good technical ability. Assisted goals and added a modest goal return himself. But his importance to how we play was massive. I think Troy would give us similar attributes and help the team a lot. Stansfield would be first pick for me still.
