Unfortunately I think the truth is that very few deals get done early in the transfer window. Clubs know they have time and only those willing to pay top dollar are accepted. Towards the end of the window, things start moving and it also enables other deals to be done too.

In the interim we can just de-register them so it's not a huge barrier.

Interesting that last season Liam Delap played a lot of games for Stoke before then going to Preston in Jan. Maybe one we would look at?
