That Chaplin miss in the first half 16:02 - Feb 10 with 4286 viewsDubtractor

Just watched back on the highlights, and that miss was worse than the defensive errors for both of their goals. To not even hit the target was really poor.

He's the player you'd want that chance to fall to, but bloody hell.

Conversely, Broadhead's finish for the goal was outstanding from a fairly awkward chance.

He does have a habit of sky-ing those chances sadly.

The thing is, he hits the brakes on his runs into the box to shake of a marker and set himself up for cutbacks, but in hitting the brakes he puts his weight through his heels to stop his momentum, which means he's often leaning back when he hits the ball. He's generally quite good at compensating for it, but it's not easy.

Spot on. It's sad not more people are saying this instead of just judging him on numbers and repeating the rhetoric that he's off form (or was before his goal today).

He was direct and was our main and arguably only threat in the first half. He put the ball on a plate for Chapin and kept trying to break the line, successfully at times.

In fairness he has struggled a bit lately by his own his standards. You can tell it’s been bothering him, as he doesn’t hide his frustration. I thought he was good yesterday though. I think it was the 3rd round cup game (I think it was that one) where we really saw the old Broady again.

Pre match I watched him get the ball laid back to him maybe 10/15 times (NS end) in the warm up, almost the exact same position, ball bouncing, spinning etc… he scored every single time.

He's not scored one of his typical goals in ages, last one he got was a bullet header. You can see it's affecting him in the game. When he's in the goals he doesn't even think about those chances, just plants them in the corner. When he's on a dry run it's almost like he tries too much and overdoes it. Yesterday's one, he could put that almost anywhere on target and it'd go in, keeper was nowhere really, but felt like he was trying to put it top bins and he's ended up skying it. That was probably the best chance of the entire game.
