If you could be any of the Top 4 who would you want to be for going up purposes 12:16 - Apr 14 with 3639 viewssmithy69

Base this purely on form, fan pressure, squad availability, games left to come and current league standings,

1) Leicester
2) Ipswich
3) Leeds
4) Southampton

Realistically the only one of the top six who would have a prayer of staying up is dirty Leeds - but clearly they would have to ditch Farke. However all season I’ve rather liked the scenario of Norwich knocking them out in the play offs which is looking increasingly likely.

Unless some more of the Premier League dross get more damaging points deductions that actually discourage cheating there three who go up will come straight back down. And if Leicester and Southampton miss out on the play offs they will implode.

Thinking about it that might be the more interesting question - who can survive not going up.

Lots of huff and puff and a better performance, but Boro still missed the best chances, especially in that 2nd half

They didn't have a chance as good as the one Sarmiento hit the post with. We created plenty of decent chances ourselves, hence having higher xG stats than Boro. We should really have been a goal or two up at half time on the balance of play, second half was relatively even.

Boro were lucky to be still in the game when they got those two chances.

Had it been 3-1 to Town at that point, and it really should have been i don't think anyone would have said it was't deserved. We ran out of gas not surprisnly and both the late chances for Boro came as we tried to push forward a bit more to make something happen.

We had an amaing amount of oppoertubies:
Chaplin from the corner
Chaplin from the cutback
Sarminteo hitting post
Burgess header, it skimmed off him but he should have buried it, it was a real chance
Omari x 3 plus the goal we scored

And that's not even counting the couple of chances that only just went over the bar that were decent chances in that they weren't speculative.

We played superbly well and I really don't get the notion we huffed and puffed. Maybe for a bit of the 2nd half but for 60 mins we were superb. That first half was exceelent against a good side in form.

Leeds had less shots against Blackburn than we had against Middlesbrough. Seems a bit harsh to say they are creating chances and not converting when we are creating more chances but you've called us "flat".

We've certainly dropped off but the others have to an equal or worse extent.

I will put my hand up and say the 'flat' comment relates to the games leading up to Middlesbrough rather than Saturday itself - we were much better there. I do think if we'd played like Middlesbrough away from home we'd say we rode our luck but deserved a draw, though.

The Watford game we had as favourable or more favourable xG stats as Leeds and Leicester in their recent games. So flat or not, the claim that the other sides have deserved more from their recent games but we haven't doesn't really stand up.
