I'm watching 'Halt and Catch Fire' on C4 at the moment, and was delighted to see a box for a Star dot matrix printer in the background. Touched a memory address for me. Any other 80s tech special memories - triggered by retro telly or not?

Fella's got that right: - R. Osman worth five times what K. Keegan was worth. - S McCall worth four times what K. Keegan was worth. - B. Talbot worth three times what K. Keegan was worth.
You could also break into the loaded program and change the values for the players then restart.

I inherited one of these recently, plus a bunch of other Linn/Naim gear. Very tempted to keep it just because of the styling but it's solely an FM tuner so don't expect to get much use out of it.

What a brilliant show.
It is, but the b**gers have taken it off now I think, and I'd only seen series one and two. Might have to see if Donna wants to come round and help me hack Channel 4. I've got an idea, she's got the skills and I've got a 5¼" floppy ready to go.

For the ultimate 80s tech I bought a two year old 1985 Toyota Corolla GT, just like this one. A boring looking 1980s hatchback runabout. Dull dull dull.
But it wasn’t. Our Japanese chums dropped an MR2 126bhp twin cam engine in it. Fatter tyres, couple of bits of bracing in the over full engine compartment, a sunroof, plastic trim and decals, radio cassette and boom. No power steering, aircon or stuff you get on a modern car. Lots of velour on your Recaro style seats though.
It looked nothing, but accelerated and went like hell. I got it up to 126mph indicated on the A12 one pre-camera Christmas Day (10mph slower in real speed) and what a sound that glorious engine made. Going round corners was heavy going but in a straight line - wow. XR3i, Golf GTIs etc - bye. I loved it. Totally reliable, so much fun and wish I still had it. 80s tech at its finest.
