Let's not get carried away, remember they were 3-0 in the last round before nearly fecking it up!

True, but I’m talking about their obvious commitment out there today. Where’s that been all season? If ETH is about to be booted into touch after the game ( pundits on BBC keep suggesting that’s the case), he must be angry at how little togetherness they’ve shown on the pitch this season.

I feel from a ManU perspective it makes sense to hand on to TH. They can wait another year and see how our man does with Ipswich.

Just proves why if it was me I wouldn't go there. That group of players time and time again have decided they don't want a manager anymore and downed tools and the moment that they get their wish suddenly the performances improve. It's an absolute poisoned chalice there and it's been the same old story at Old Trafford for a decade now. You can bet your life if there was no prospect of a change of manager there there would be a totally different performance. The same players who are busting their gut today a fair bit are the same one who were walking around the pitch without any discipline not so long ago. McKenna has already seen many of this group of players throw people under the bus, if he has any sense he'd want to wait a while for the club to to sort the rot out, ideally you want to be the manager after the next manager. Whilst these guys are still there they will think of nothing of throwing someone under a bus again.

Unless whatever the result, ten Hag is going anyway. The chance of European football would make the job more attractive. But would it mean they're less likely to go with someone without Premier League experience?

United fans will be wondering where that performance was for much of the season.

Not often you see a dead man walking win a trophy. It is an interesting point about players picking and choosing who they want to play for and when they want to turn up. It seems to be a feature of the modern game. To be expected with the multi millions involved I suppose. Whoever replaces Ten Hag had better be nice to them or he’ll be toast before he starts.

In Ten Hag's defence they have had horrendous injury problems. Martinez is massive for them. Just leads by example in terms of fight. Amrabat has been strong end of season. Mainoo looks World Class and even he was injured start of season. They had all of their defenders out. Mount has missed basically the season as have plenty of their midfield. Rashford for sure needs to have a serious talk to himself but they could be much stronger next year.

They have the resources to sign the world’s best players. It’s their chaos if what was signed wasn’t good enough. And it hasn’t been for one of the world’s most prestigious clubs. For example, they signed Mason Mount for £50m plus. A bloke who has made his dough and whose form fell apart at Chelsea well before they offloaded him to United. And what’s he done since? Zippedy do daa. ‘He’s been injured’. Whatever, money hosed up the wall. I haven’t seen too much of United but when I have it’s been pass the pegs around time - until today. Just at the time they’ve disgracefully let it be known they’re looking to replace the current sap. On the flip side, that Mainoo looked a heck of a player.
