That’s 13. Presumably Ladapo too if we can find a home for him, although that won’t be cheap and I would expect we’ll have to contribute most of his wages / bridge any gap. Ahadme & Baggott presumably out on loans or moved on too.
Quite a lot innit, and that’s before question marks around a few others, namely in the keeper department. Excluding keepers that leaves 16 by my reckoning, including Humphreys, Edmundson, Harness & Al-Hamadi who you might argue won’t all be in the squad.

I reckon there’s 13 senior players who will definitely be part of our squad next season bar a surprise departure. Them being:

I would imagine someone in L1 will throw a few grand a week at him, we’ll no doubt bridge the gap to his Town salary for the final year / pay a lump sum to make it worthwhile him going.
Or it’s just done as a loan deal for the season. We’ll be lucky to get 25% of his salary paid I would think. [Post edited 31 May 2024 21:08]

I think with 2 x promotion rises since he joined he’ll be on over £10k a week, possibly £15k. Fair to say signing for Town was a very sensible career choice for the lad. | | | |

Or more to the point nobody in their wildest dreams would’ve expected to get 2 promotions in the space of his contract. And in doing so him being on that sort of money for a year is a small price to pay. Did contribute a lot in L1, and a little last season to be fair. Would be quite a story if he played some sort of role in the premier league. Won’t happen but scenes if he does. | | | |

We have to remember cup games. League and F A Cup will be of no importance to us this season. It's all about staying in the Premier League. By January we will have a good idea about our league status, so the F A Cup might be one we can have a pop at, but the League Cup is of no interest this season. Jackson and others will get their game time there. See us only using 17/18 of the squad during our league campaign. | |

I hope that the bulk of the starting X1 from last season remain are starting X1 this. Just a sprinkle of better quality at RB, CM, AM and possibly up top. 4 New starters and 7 from last season would be all I would be looking at to start with. The rest to improve the options from the bench. | |

We signed 11 first team players last season, and 13 the season before. Why would we suddenly bring in less now when we have a bigger gap to bridge, and more money available to do so? |  |

One thing that struck me in the interview KMcK gave after they announced the new contract was how calm and confident he was when the squad was discussed; just talked about working hard with the group in pre-season - he showed loyalty to his squad last season and they rewarded him and us. When recruitment was mentioned it was just the same mantra as previous seasons too - bring in a few players who will help to improve the group; didn't sound like someone who was planning to rip up the squad.
I think the OP has it right at about 6 or 7 players this window, and probably the same again in the winter window to reinforce when we've had a chance to assess which players are capable of making the step up, and to cover for any injury problems picked up.
We need to hit the ground running this season to give ourselves a chance, and replacing half the squad in one go I think would be a recipe for disaster, not just in terms of damage to the spirit within the squad off the pitch, but trying to get that many players to bed in all at once would be a risk. |  |

I think we sign somewhere between 7-10 players. If they are all in the £5-20M bracket, I would be expecting most to start. I know we are going to spend and reinforcements are needed, but it worries me that those who got us there, may not be given the chance to keep us there. These lads have earnt that right. | |

I think I read somewhere that Luton spent about £20M and Burnley £100M. Somebody on here yesterday said that we are going to spend around £90M. (which Phil kind of agreed with) If the bulk of that is on 4 starters then great, with the rest spent on £1-3M players for the squad. One of the main reasons we are where we are is because of the togetherness of this squad. I worry it may be upset with to many new arrivals expecting to be in the starting X1. | |
