Unusual for the ICC to come up with a tournament with farcical rules.

Who would have thought that holding it at the start of the wet season would see conditions being, er, wet?

It is hit and giggle cricket anyway. I am not convinced we would have beaten Scotland had it finished so this scenario does at least negate the need for Aus to throw their match to knock us out.

11 overs a side starting at 9pm.

Let’s get the job done & get through it what has been an absolute joke of a tournament thus far.

Should scrape it.

Deeply uncomfortable at seeing such a white Namibian team.

Not that different to Oman, USA and Canada using loads of immigrant Indians or citizens with Indian ethnicity to pad out their national cricket teams because the indiginous populations have zero interest in cricket. It took time for black African Zimbabweans and South Africans to adopt the game 20 or so years back , Namibia will get there.

Did the job, fairly comfortably in the end - after a shaky start. Now down to hoping the Irish and Aussies get to play at least five overs each and the latter win. But I'm not staying up until 5am to find out.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Bah! I meant Scots. About the 15th time I've made that mistake.

Well they could have held it here in summer and have got the same result, we cant exactly claim rain isnt an issue.

And you wouldn't have been able to hold it earlier in the year and play games in the USA too. Ignoring the IPL clash

There was a big difference with Zimbabwe and South Africa where there was a deliberate policy of segregation and not picking the black players.

A better comparison would be with English cricket where (despite the indigenous population playing a lot) we have played plenty of naturalised South Africans, Zimbabweans, West Indians etc. I prefer to look at the nationality and how it is obtained rather than judge purely on skin tone.

Yes absolutely. Cricket was identiified as the white mans' game due a lot to the apartheid situation and it is great that it has been adopted by the black population in S.A and Zimbabwe so that it is a game for all, even though football is still the game of choice.Black, white, whatever, I am just glad this game is accessed by and played by as many people as possible.
