I agree. Lets be honest any combination of games between France, Germany, England, Spain, Italy etc becomes a bit of a coin toss. It wouldn't surprise me at all whichever way any of those games went. It's always best to avoid such strong sides in a knockout competition as your chances of winning the thing are greater if you only have to beat 1 or 2 of them rather than 3. Nonetheless, we'll have to turn over a top side or 2 at some point if we're to win it, which as you say we're capable of on our day.
Winning the group should make for an OK last 16 games against a lucky loser from group D / E / F (still not sure how that works as 4 of the 6 third placed teams will go through, so the 3rd placed sides in 1, 2 or all even all 3 of those groups mentioned could be going through - which one will we play?).
