Is anyone here from Telford or visited there on 21:00 - Jun 26 by MattinLondon
They still exist…just not in the UK.
Bloody Tories/Corbyn/Brexit/Just Stop Oil (delete as appropriate). I was always dragged into C&A in Ipswich by my mum on my annual clothes buying trip. TWTD (not)
I used to have to go there with work a fair amount so yes, I know it. Utterly soulless is an apt summary. Roundabouts, forgettable buildings, no real heart to it.
On the upside, it’s reasonably located and connected. It’s also in the fascinating county of Shropshire. Nice part of the world. Coalbrookdale, Ironbridge etc, Shrewsbury, Tewksbury, close to the Cosford air museum.

I'm not sure that Tewkesbury would be happy to be included in your list of Salopian happy places
More of a Gloucestershire kinda town

Spent 2 days there at Viessmann boilers on a noiler course Pretty soulless not many pubs as can rember. It was the same time we played Shrewsbury in the league cup. Tough choice night out with Viessmann paying or going to footy wish I had chosen the footy

There must be other examples, but is there any other town or city that has a motorway running right through the middle of it?
Glasgow? It's runs through the middle about as much as it does Telford.
Telford is awesome, I worked there for 6 months at the tank factory. It is literally a shopping center contained in a roundabout, what more do you want? Sadly it has been redeveloped since and ha lost a lot of its charm. Rob Edwards of Luton management fame, also comes from Telford I believe.
As said before, the best thing about it is the surrounding area - including the often overlooked Wrekin
