There are two attitudes to choose from, I think.

The world-weary, cynical, "it'll be more of the same, T*ry-lite, it's not good enough," position, which clearly has strong grounds.

Or the "OK, let's give them a chance, they certainly will be better than what's just been flushed, and they have put forward some positive changes," take which is also clearly true.

I think we do ourselves a disservice and pander to our own egos if we just go down the first route and dismiss the latter.

At the very least he suggests there might be some integrity and decency in the government and that is a massive improvement alone. He makes some right noises with taxation and funding public services too.

Time will tell but I certainly feel much better than I would have done had I woken up to another Conservative government.

They are definitely not going to be getting all progressive now that they are in and surprising to the upside. Think Republican/Democrat before Trump...yawn.
