While ultimately I liked the new kit . . 14:29 - Jul 6 with 1866 viewsBattersea_Blue

I thought the launch video was absolutely dreadful.

I get that today’s style is fast, flashing images, but crikey, the point of the video was to show the kit properly. I think they totally failed to do that. I actually felt nauseous watching it.

While TownTV is a great concept, my opinion is they’ve got so much wrong. The interview with Ashton was obviously pre-recorded and painful to watch, the ex-players looking at old kit was frankly boring and then that awful video.

Having said that I’ve ordered both home and away shirts . . 😂

I’m genuinely curious at what you were expecting, they showed both kits clearly at the end? If they just showed that at the start then the video would have been 10 seconds long no?

Kind of get your point with the rest of it, I thought the interviews were decent but understand it’s down to personal taste.

But it was always all gonna be pre-recorded, too many moving parts if they did it all live, and actually thought it ran pretty well being pre-recorded.

What I don’t get is people complaining about it being behind a ‘pay wall’ the kit release video was put on twitter at the exact same time it was on the live stream, so all you missed was the interviews. Just classic Ipswich fans having to moan about something I guess…

I said the same to Mr Hugoagogo this morning. What's the point of doing a video which has one 2-second freeze on the actual home shirt, then just darts around like Austin Powers taking photos shouting "Yes! Yes! Yes! No!'"?

However, on the plus side, I did like the line that said something like 'Suffolk ain't sleeping no more... This club, this team, this county... We're wide awake..." Terrible grammar, but nice word imagery of a sleeping, 'sleepy Suffolk' giant getting up from his slumber and coming for the Premier League. 😁

Was a comically awkward 45 minutes. Some highlights...
-making leif and wes play rock paper scissors to decide on who had to play the awful t shirt game.
-the studio bloke making very forced comments about the kit to hint towards the new designs, (you loved the pin stripes though wes, those collars were not the best etc)
-cole skuse brushing over the magical Vegas abominations
-leif saying everyone will be looking at the badge on the right arm, puzzled wes looks at his left arm.
-al hamadis cameo to essentially say tye home one is a blue shirt what do you want me to say but the away one is good 😆

Was a cringe fest start to finish and no one other than mick stockwell seemed at all bothered by football shirts.

Should of hired Ellis platten and got the whole squad involved in a big run down of the last 3 or 4 seasons kits.

I was expecting and hoping for a watchable video, not milli-second images that you had no time to properly process.

Yeah, it’s the fashion nowadays and maybe I’m just an old git and behind the times. I just loathed it.

The “live” interviews with Wes and Leif were ok, but neither are particularly good interviewees unfortunately. Too much “like I say” and one other constant that I forget now.

The paywall issue I didn’t come across as my international subscription runs until mid August, so I was straight in. I guess there has to be some privilege for paid subscribers, but in this case, with the sole aim of selling shirts, I would have thought it more sensible to have the launch blasted everywhere foc.

Jesus wept. Not sure what people expect

If I want a good look at the kits I go on the club shop site and see the pictures, not on a quick flashy video.

No. I wish for the media department to cater to me and know by telepathy what I want to see. None of this flashy 'street' vibe, please. Just a 360 pan of the kit, please.

Thanks awfully.

I “expect” something that’s actually watchable.

This was a launch, so the kit wasn’t on the club shop at the time.

Should have been much better, in my opinion.

Trust me, watch that lot up the roads kit release video, and ours is like a Hollywood blockbuster compared to it.

They’ve got nice photographs on the website as well so the moving pictures don’t upset you.

Well, at least Woolfy was wearing clothes, unlike these stylised swimwear models in pop videos these days. 🙄

While I get what your saying, the whole point of some kind of launch video is not to get a good view at the kits, but more launch promotion to introduce it. However, it's better than previous years but not quite where it should be. Personally I think all the marketing needs some serious updating to make everything much more professional. Ideally we should be got Sheeran on this and pushing through all social media avenues - but this doesn't depend on the marketing manager and how techy they are.
