Ground works 16:38 - Jul 11 with 8738 views | textbackup | Mate is down there this week and the general consensus of the contractors working is that there is no chance work will be complete by the Liverpool game. Wonder if they’ve tried to cram too much in.

Ground works on 22:28 - Jul 11 with 1720 views | BlueForYou | Just out of interest, what is the total cost of installing the VAR equipment? & is the cost paid by the club or by the Premier League? This might have been mentioned in previous threads but if so I haven’t seen it.

Ground works on 22:27 - Jul 11 by stonojnr | yeah that strikes me as odd, we will have had about 100 days since last home championship league game to first home Premier league game. why would you immediately cull best part of nearly 30 days, just under a third of the time available, or basically lets call it a month, off your build schedule by not working weekends from the start ? I get you cant work the same people 7 days a week for weeks on end, and logistics of supplies of equipment materials, problems you encounter along the way add up, but theres loads of different people involved in this doing all manner of different work, and rule number 1 of project management is you can always waste time, you can never get time back and if you are in a time box situation, ie the end date cant slip (though I really dont understand why the club didnt ask for an away game for the 1st match and cant believe the Prem league would have turned them down its in their interests not to have games postponed due to building works to meet their crazy documents for promoted teams) youve got to basically do the hard graft on it from the start,or at least pay others to do it for you. so getting to this point and suddenly thinking oh no we need another 10 days in our schedule of works, what you been doing the past two months ? |
When they did the pitch works last summer the planning application had restricted working hours included in it due to the housing in the area. This included no or limited weekend hours if I remember rightly. There's no planning application in this tine around but the restricted hours to reduce noise may still apply.

Ground works on 21:53 - Jul 11 by SitfcB | I was surprised to see no work being done the other weekend, and then last Sunday there was workers present. Would’ve thought work would’ve been taken place round the clock! |
There are laws in place on building works and times they can work etc. There are loads of residential places around there too ba.

Ground works on 18:55 - Jul 11 by textbackup | Half of the problem is there are already too many people on site, making certain jobs impossible to complete |
Having been in the building trade most of my working life, having tradespersons standing about waiting can be a right wind up while they are waiting for you to finish your task!

They must be proceeding at risk due to timescales as nothing has been applied for. Sure it will be being covered by Building Regs in one form or another

How would you know if it’s been applied for? This wouldn’t be access to public info.

Don't you have to seek an exemption for it not to be? All of Town's recent ones have been available to see on the portal so not quite sure why it wouldn't be on there
