Best of luck to this guy, he can sit on the bench in the premier and make appearances in the cup/champions league for villa, let’s face it… will only be 3 games until they are knocked out to a Turkish team you can’t even pronounce 😂
Then be loaned out to a basic club like Stoke for a year next season… yawn
McKenna and the coaches would have made him a superstar at Ipswich and go onto bigger things but if that’s not his bag so be it.
We will identify the next player and turn them into the next big thing whilst he sits and watches being a bit player at Villa.

Not bitter at all 😂
Seriously we will be fine and whoever comes in will be grateful and become a cult hero unlike this guy who’s going back to be second best and a squad player like he was last year, hence he was sold. Good player, average mentality

OR

he backs his ability to make the first team in an environment he already knows at a champions league team.

No hard feelings as far as I'm concerned. I quite rate the fact he's prioritising regular football and been pushing for assurances of it from his next club, it says something about his character and the fact he wanted to come here had Villa not swopped in.

Objectively speaking its very hard to argue with it. He's a guy who has opted to go back to a club he's familiar with, who just finished 4th in the Premier league, have Champions League football coming up, and almost certainly going to be a very decent PL club for the foreseeable. Not to mention perhaps a sense of feeling he has a point to prove there.

Quite honestly we can't really blame him, and its a bit salty to be too bitter. We need to move on.

Aston Villa might well be an established PL club but they won’t pay 18M for a player to simply leave on the bench - they aren’t that wealthy.

They obviously see him as a player with huge potential who could do very well for them. Plus their manager isn’t daft - he wouldn’t have spent a significant chunk of his transfer budget on a player he doesn’t see making their squad.

The difference in scale is that for newly promoted teams, an 18 million player is a guaranteed starter, whereas for a Champions League team he is more of a finisher or a player that would hope to break into the team.

Might have read it wrong but the way Sky have written the update in their Transfer Centre it sounds like he was contractually obliged to move to them after they matched our bid.

"Talks are ongoing to find a solution to the current stalemate surrounding Hull's Jaden Philogene.

Aston Villa have triggered a clause that allows them to match the agreements reached by Ipswich and Everton.

As part of the agreement in which he left Villa for Hull last year, a pre-contract agreement was signed by the player if Villa matched a bid.

However, Philogene is thought to want to head where he is going to play the most games for the next part of his development.

It means Ipswich are in a strong position, having reassured him he will be one of their first choices in attack.

However, Villa have the pre-contract agreement already signed by the player.

Talks are ongoing about a solution."

18m is pocket money for a club who's now in the championsleague and they've just sold diaby for 40 mill, and it was 13 mill not 18 mill when you take the 30% into it.

Theyll prob use him in the far future, but as said earlier, he'll be back out on loan this window.

It's not £13m, it's still £18m as they forgo the 30% they would've received had he gone elsewhere, which he would have done.

I can't see him going anywhere on loan, he'll be in their squad and they'll use him. It's up to him if he takes those chances.

13 mill and as we're proving as a freshly promoted team, they probably are that wealthy. Almost nothing at this level.

Nonsense. Of course he won't go out on loan. He had several clubs after him and he's not going to choose the one that sends him back to the Championship or abroad

Fee has been reported as £13m (which works out as roughly £18m - 30%) Villa aren't forgoing their sell-on - it's effectively being given back to them as a discount after they matched our bid (rather than receiving it from us via what we would have paid Hull)

He won’t get into their team. We are not precious, we just want decisive and ambitious players in our team 🙂

Course it is. Christ even 18 mill to us isn't even a stretch let alone a champions league side.

So you’re saying it’s not ambitious for a player to back his ability and go to a Champions League side?
