You might be right, but McKenna has never played with a ‘big’ centre mid, Luongo is only 5”9 and Humphreys has even played there before, so I wouldn’t rule it out.
I mean he’s not on their level, but Xavi or Iniesta never struggled. |

It may not have made a difference, but I didn't like the hostile reaction Downes got when he came back here in April. Indeed, I don't like any former player getting a hostile reaction.

I didn’t notice the hostile reaction to him at the game tbh, but I agree - doing that to a player is something I don’t like and is actually counter productive.
In terms of Downes, he’d have been a great fit and is better than I think West Ham give him credit for. But there is something about his relationship with us in his reactions last April and comments in general that suggests staying at Saints is a good move for all.
I can’t put my finger on it - I don’t know the bloke or what truly happened. I just wish him well. |  | | |
