VAR at the Olympics.... 19:10 - Jul 24 with 1262 views | Bloots | ....going as well as usual. The Argies have had their 107th minute equaliser against Morocco disallowed 2 hours after it was scored. Funny.

VAR at the Olympics.... on 19:15 - Jul 24 with 1208 views | SheffordBlue | Don't think the delay was anything to do with VAR. There was crowd trouble and they suspended the game. That would have taken place with the remaining extra time being played even if VAR wasn't being used.

I don’t think he meant the delay, but the decision.

Maybe I misread your post but I took from it that VAR was at fault here in someway.

...more that the decision wasn't conveyed until 2 hours later when they had to go back and play the final three minutes. A ridiculous situation. As an aside, FIFA/UEFA really do have to sort out this issue with fans lobbing glasses/plastics onto the pitch. It's getting ridiculous.

I've read something from one of the journos there that the decision was communicated to the players as soon as they went off. When they came back out the ref went through the performative routine of going to the monitor, etc which seems ridiculous and the Moroccan players acted like they'd just heard.

"As an aside, FIFA/UEFA really do have to sort out this issue with fans lobbing glasses/plastics onto the pitch." Paper cups? No beverages in the 'stadium bowl'? The latter will go down well.
