Is Lee O'Neill back to do 500 jobs again?

Prem really has come at quite the pace hasn't it on 08:23 - Aug 1 by FrimleyBlue | No presenter for fanzone was added as tongue in cheek after another poster mentioned it. Sorry for not putting lol after it. My life is fine thank you. As always flash I use the forum to post thoughts about the football club or football stuff. I've done what everyone asked and mixed up my posts so that they contain positive thoughts and not only posting negative. It's a shame however that certain posters are happy to ignore and not get involved in the positive ones but are very quick to dive into ones that they don't agree with so they can take a personal dig. It's a shame. But I'm happy my posting content has met the requirements requested of me by fellow posters. |
I don't read all you posts, and I don't signal you out - I'd say the same to any negative poster (in fact I've posted my disagreement with another negative poster, this morning, re the transfer window). It's odd, to me, that you're feeling negative (occasionally posting positive stuff to meet the requirements requested) after the incredible two years we've had. Your expectations re football are unrealistic, and have been since you first posted on here. I just wonder if it's the same in other areas of your life. In football, we've had an incredible two years and should be the happiest supporters in the country.

interesting you say occasionally posting positive, when it's been the opposite, ive mainly posted positive stuff and occasionally some thoughts that come across negative. again not sure what's unrealistic about any of my recent posts, im happy to discuss your countering views against them. My OP for example is factual and was more about the speed at which we've got prem and how much we've got to do, it wasn't actually a negative take at all, just a remark on the outstanding jobs. If it's about the half the squad remark, i've discussed that in another thread, you can take it literal, but i'm mearly referring and agreeing with KM's remarks about wanting and needing alot more players and the half the squad sizing ive used is based alot on potentials.

Re the first bit - I was just basing on you saying "I'm happy my posting content has met the requirements requested of me" - feels like you're almost forced to post positive stuff just to keep up appearances. yeah maybe I took the "half a squad" remark too literally. With the squad limit being 25 I thought you were suggesting we need another 12/13 players! With the 104 projects thing - watching Ashton's walkthrough talking about them I actually found impressive rather than a worry. Some of your other posts (about the recruitment especially) have, I guess, coloured my view of this one.

"Re the first bit - I was just basing on you saying "I'm happy my posting content has met the requirements requested of me" - feels like you're almost forced to post positive stuff just to keep up appearances." Like I said, i've mainly posted positive/neutral stuff, some occasional twitter links and occasional negative thoughts if I don't agree with something, no different to other posters. The how many players is actually quite difficult as it really does depend on who stays out of what we class as the fringe players, and some of KM's thoughts also make me wonder what his plans are for the likes of taylor if he doesn't work out as a 10, and then we have these injuries, its a tough gig. I think if you ignore potentials, then most agree it's about 6-7 more needed, if we begin to lose more then that figure goes up.. but we'll see I do agree the video was impressive, and I didn't say I was worried about it, its just an oustanding task. recruitment, I think is a personal opinion piece, someones quality is someone elses rubbish, as ive said yesturday, if the current signings signed towards the back of the window, there wouldnt be so much thought about them, but as they are the first ones we've made, when you're thinking of the likes of Doku, Haaland, Eze coming to PR, then seeing Downes go to Southampton whilst we're still without a new midfielder, It's not easy at this very moment in time to see our signings so far as anything but future fee potential players. That's not a negative in that they're not good signings, they are, but until we sign some around that group, I can't yet see it being enough to keep us up. But I do add there is plenty of time left, I am literally speaking of how things sit right now as we are.

Prem really has come at quite the pace hasn't it on 06:52 - Aug 1 by Asa | Poor old Kieran has stupidly been looking at player data, getting character references and meticulously studying how a certain player would likely look in our system and what they'd bring, a method that's brought him incredible and unprecedented success. After all that, all he needed to do was buy players like Tanaka that had a good game against us in a friendly. He'll feel really stupid when he realizes loads of players had a good game against us last season. We could have just bought all the Leeds players. No wonder stuff is taking so long when the club is taking it's time to get things right, instead of quick, impulsive solutions. The fools. |
And to add to that we. We will automatically be offered every player we have an interest in without bigger clubs interfering and at prices that suits our budget and no the over inflated rates wanted by agents and parent clubs. We all wanted a fully loaded and fit ready to go two weeks before the season starts, however it is likely that we will be not quite ready with a couple of injuries and having to play Liverpool and city. It's scary but that's football. Norwich fans will have their two weeks of fun whilst losing in a division below I just hope that our own fan ase doesn't become a bunch of fannies as soon as the going gets tough. There should be plenty of us who are old enough to realise that this is another reset before another step forwards.

I don't think the likes of Doku and Haaland coming are the ones we need to worry about. Any points we take off Man City and Liverpool are bonus points IMO.
