Borussia not happy on 13:19 - Aug 2 by yorkshireblue | As I've said on another thread - we would be fuming if this happened to us - they are well within thier rights to be aggrieved. I get it may well be (and I suspect, but lets be honest we don't have all the facts) decision for us from a player welfare perspective - but that is our problem, not Borussia. We've amended all of our pre-season fixtures so far - I expect we may not find teams so keen to play us this time next year. |
Your final paragraph is my concern here. We've arranged three friendlies so far against decent foreign sides, and reneged on the terms of all three. We'll have seriously blotted our copybook here, and have probably done a degree of damage to our reputation in the game.

Its only this game where we know the amendment came from our side, the other changes could have been amicably agreed.

I really don't think future friendly opponents will be particularly fussed. Firstly, it's not like no one will do business with Lazio after they didn't fulfill the 2 x friendlies that were part of the Sereni deal Secondly, money talks. If we're still a prem side next season then most sides would still be more than happy to play us. There's probably a good chance we'll end up in a tournament on foreign soil with similar sized clubs. And if we're not still in the prem then I'm sure there'll still be plenty of clubs that would fancy a good workout against a side that plays prem-style football

Borussia not happy on 13:30 - Aug 2 by tractorboy1978 | I don't really get it I have to say. Unless we have even more injuries than we know about then surely we could put out two fairly decent teams with a couple of youngsters in each? Hutchinson and Tuanzebe have travelled and will presumably be involved. It's only Broadhead, Al-Hamadi, Clarke, Burns (?) missing? Smells to me more like McKenna trying to make a point. We simply don't have the bodies for 2 games, that was obvious last weekend - just looking at the known injury doubts you struggle to make 2 teams: Muric/Walton Johnson/? [Is Agbaje fit] Woolfie/Edmundson Greaves/Burgess Davis/Townsend Morsy/ [F.Barbrook] Luongo/Taylor Burns/ [Ayinde] Chaplin/ [Foyo] Harness/ [Ladapo] Hirst/Delap A couple more may be ready to play, a couple more may be out - but those teams are miles of it everywhere apart from the back 5
