Starmer - "Won't shy away from calling it what it is" on 08:38 - Aug 6 by bournemouthblue | An expert was suggesting some elements have crossed the boundaries into terrorism Trying to burn down a hotel with asylum seekers in it, would tick that box presumably I still can't get my head around the mosque attacks when the stabbings they think they are avenging, have no connection to islam I do wonder if this overt attack on Muslims and asylum seekers will backfire in the long run, encouraging the quieter minority to unite against the looney right |
Trying to set fire to a hotel is absolutely terrorism, at the very least attempted murder. I hope those pieces of sht go away for a very very long time

Setting fire to a hotel (deliberately) in and of itself is arson. It has to tick other boxes to be classed as terrorism. There is an expert suggesting it probably ticks those boxes. I am prepared to accept that expert's view but it will be very interesting if Farage, Yaxley-Lennon and co now get declared as terrorist organisations. It will also be interesting to see if any of those involved are charged with terror offences or simply rioting. Since the latter will be easier to prove and are equally serious offences, I suspect that will be the charge brought.

Terrorism is defined as the motive, rather than the acts themselves, no?
