The first two are against the best teams in the league, the third against Fulham. After that we have a fortnight before the next league game. Realistically we can really only hope for 4 points max from those games, though personally I’d be delighted with two!
It would be lovely if we signed all the players we need before we start, but I doubt it will define our season if some signings are made on August 31st. Besides, I actually like the idea of giving the players who got us here a go to see what they can do before we bin them off as not up to it. |  |

And if we were playing 2 teams we have a chance of beating I would be more concerned but these in my eyes are both free hits. 2 points gained would be out of this world but I am not holding out much hope for more than 1 if that.

I think we should be aiming for 3 points in our home games against teams like Fulham. "Delighted" with 2 points? I won't be. A point from either of our first two would certainly be good and any more than that, delighted. However, only 1 point from the combination of the 3 matches would be far from a great start even considering 2 of them are against the most likely title contenders. |  |

Northsuff - I agree with you re Fulham when we get a full squad of players we want. I guess I was thinking of worst case scenario for the first 3 games. 2 pts would mean we’d only lost one of our first 3 games, 2 of which are against a couple of the best teams in the league. So I’d be pretty happy with that. | |

I think we’ll do well to get three points from a well established Fulham side, the first Two are, as we stand currently likely to be almost impossible to gain anything from.

That attitude suggests you expect us to finish rock bottom. We should be aiming to win home games against mid-table sides but won't actually win them all. Only 3 or 4 of our opponents are not established Premier League sides. 3 or 4 wins and draws would see us finish rock bottom. | |

I'm thinking back one year.
We had new signings - Taylor and Hirst, Scarlett on loan from Spurs, Hutchinson on loan from Chelsea, Brandon Williams from Man Utd.
We'd have to rely on our League 1 heroes for the main part.
First up Sunderland away.
Strongly favoured to be there or thereabout at the end of the season.
Second match, Stoke at home.
This is their year. They've strengthened and are nailed on top 6.
We were expecting a mid-table finish and we should be winning our home games.
We all played down our chances and we got 2 wins.
You all have the mind set of exactly one year ago and look what happened.
