I feel we are capable of a draw. Take in to consideration. We will be pumped up for it .no body expecting us to pull off any result.. .

A good result? Obviously I don't like seeing us lose but if we did, a 4-3 thriller. I'd like us to have positive vibes and a good game..4-3 win would be better still.

The best outcome from the first 2 games is 6 points, I would settle for the next best thing which would be to get through both games without any new injury problems and a couple more players coming in. Giving us a good chance to hit the ground running against the teams we should take points from.

Ipswich 2 - 1 Liverpool

Salah put scousers ahead 41st min pen
Taylor to come off the bench on 65 and score a 75th min thunderbolt equaliser.
Al Hamadi (scouser, extra fired up) 82nd min sub for Delap to get 89th min winner.

Or something like that.....

This is where our clubs differ. No defeat is a 'good result' unless you've got the sort of tinpot loser mentality that sees your club never win anything, yo-yo up to the premier league every so often to make up the numbers with the ambition of being 'in the top 26 in the country' and getting humped by Oxford on the opening day. Proper small time mentality that becomes self fulfilling and perhaps goes some way to explaining the empty trophy cabinet.

You don't punch above your weight as market town and win European honours, FA Cups and become champions of England with that mentality. We're Ipswich Town. We can play well and lose, but 0-3 home defeats aren't ever 'good results' however much an underdog we are.

In answer to the OP, clearly any points on the board come full time would be a fantastic start and real confidence booster to the whole squad.

The last time Town went up they had a 1-1 draw with. Man U in an epic night game.

This time round the gap between money-doped European contenders and newbies is more Grand Canyon like.

I think Town’s best hope lies in the discord and cracks appearing in the Liverpool squad but I suspect they’ll have enough to wi no n very comfortably - hence 0-3 being a likely score. I’m Don think the absurd kick off time helps overly either.

Well we know Liverpool better than they know us and McKenna will crrtainly be aware of how they play and how Man Utd have set up against them in the past.

Portman road is not a wide pitch so how much space will Salah have? How can we contain Jota? I assume these are their main two threats.

If we have a first 20 min spell like we did vs Sunderland and they go 2-0 ip it will be hard to get anything out of the game. If we are still in it after 20, i think its game on.

Poll: If we sing for 90 mins for all remaining games, how many points is it worth?

I had a dream last night that we won 2-0 and I scored the second. Delicate little chip.

Sadly, I'm gonna be in France, otherwise that would almost certainly have come true...

I had a dream last night that we pressed them hard, keeper passed it straight out to me. As I was about to hit it, I was pulled to the floor. Expected to hear a whistle blow, and a red card, but it turned out that Morsy had pulled me down, hoping to buy a free kick, as he ( probably quite rightly) assumed I'd miss! Should probably eat less cheese before bed :-)

optimistic for the season but not for the first couple of games where I fear that the enormous gulf between the top of the prem and our current best 11 will be very evident. Head says a heavy defeat but of course I'm hoping that somehow we can work some magic. In any case, can't wait to get back to PR

A likely score is very different to a ‘good result’.
